The Wildkits and Trevians renew their rivalry in Winnetka on Tuesday with the winner taking over the top spot in the CSL South standings. Evanston has been on a tear in 2014, but the Trevians have turned on the jets recently with wins over Loyola and Lyons and also beat Evanston 5-4 back in Week 1.

The Dukes travel to Naperville hoping to pull off an upset when they take on the fifth-ranked Redhawks on Tuesday night.

Niles West 14 Maine South 9

Kyle Patt and Steven Renko both totaled 5 goals and 3 assists and Matt Lefler blocked 10 shots and made 5 steals as the Wolves topped Maine South 14-9. Phil Wachowski tallied 4 goals and Makai DeNeve-Arnam netted 3 scores in the loss for the Hawks.

Maine East 20 Deerfield 5

Mateo Kozomara scored 6 goals and the trio of James Caldwell, Ricky Pokorski, and Sumair Sheik tallied 3 goals apiece in the Blue Demons' 20-5 triumph over Deerfield.

 

Naperville Central 9 STC North 4

The Redhawks used a 4-1 run in the second quarter followed by a 4-0 third quarter effort to get past STC North 9-4 on Tuesday. Chris Stanek and Ross Davis scored 2 goals apiece and Collin Bawolek stopped 6 shots in the loss for the hosts.

 

Naperville North 15 Hinsdale Central 6

Nolan Roberts scored 4 goals and BD Chapman, Drake McClure, Ryan Towers, and Brandon Nyland each added 2 goals as the Huskies knocked off Hinsdale Central 15-6.

 

Neuqua Valley 19 Hinsdale South 3

Ian Ivkovich recorded 5 goals and both Joey Dalesandro and Simon Shatinsky put in 3 goals in Neuqua's 19-3 victory over Hinsdale South.

 

New Trier 13 Evanston 3

Rodrigo Garcia scored 2 goals and seven other Trevians scored in their 13-3 win over Evanston.

 

Sandburg 15 Latin 9

Ben Crnich registered 6 goals and Mitch Winkelmann notched 5 scores as Sandburg went on the road to beat Latin 15-9. Nick Bonnar and Sean McNicholas combined to save 12 shots for the Eagles.

 

St Patrick 20 Von Steuben 4

Joseph Gibson notched 6 scores, Connor O'Rourke added 4 goals, and Tim Noble blocked 21 shots as the Shamrocks rolled to a 20-4 win over Von Steuben.

 

Stevenson 18 Lake Forest 2

Alex Divanyan scored 4 goals and Shaurya Gilani made 8 saves in Stevenson's 18-2 triumph over Lake Forest. Alex Kapecki, Andrew Shashin, and Luke Gabel-Preze each scored 3 times and both Kurt Holzer and Cristiano Tomasetti put in 2 goals in the winning effort. Liam Holzer also chipped in with one goal for the Patriots.

MATCH OF THE DAY

New Trier 5 Evanston 4

Maria Breen drew an ejection and Brittany Bishop scored the game-winner on the ensuing possession with eight seconds remaining as the Trevians overcame a late 4-2 deficit to stun Evanston 5-4 on Tuesday.

 

The Wildkits had taken a 4-2 lead with 3:50 remaining on Karissa McBride's goal, but Breen converted a penalty shot at the 3:20 mark and Shannon Kent tied the score moments later for the Trevians. Neither team could score on their next few possessions before Breen and Bishop combined to provide the heroics.

 

Kent led the New Trier offense with 2 goals, while Breen, Bishop, and Stephanie Jodloman each scored once. Courtney Gregori scored 2 times and both McBride and Honore Collins put in one goal in the loss for Evanston.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Glenbrook South 10 Vernon Hills 9

Diana Capota scored the game-winning goal after Rachel Spector drew an ejection in the closing stages of the Titans' 10-9 victory over Vernon Hills. Spector led the offense with 3 goals while Anna Hofmockel and Rema Abu-Hashim each added 2 goals in the winning effort.

 

Lincoln-Way East 12 R-B 1

Haley McCabe totaled 4 goals and 5 steals and both Erica Mangia and Lauren VanderVelde scored 2 times in the Griffins' 12-1 win over R-B. Jill Connolly made 5 saves and allowed one goal in the victory for East.

 

Haley McCabe scored four goals and recorded five steals in the Griffins 12-1 win over the Bulldogs.  Lauren VanderVelde and Erica Mangia both added two scores while Jill Connolly made five saves.

 

Maine South 7 Conant 6 (OT)

Sammy Zaug scored the game-winning goal in overtime and Kalin Bender made 22 saves as Maine South outlasted Conant 7-6 on Tuesday in nonconference play. Jenna Zitkus scored 3 goals and Kamila Orzech added 2 goals in the win for the Hawks. Angie Skittone scored 4 goals, Carmen Rosas added a goal and 8 steals, and Maddy Demaret totaled 13 saves and 4 steals in the Cougars' loss.

 

Maine West 6 Highland Park 2

Emily Morrison registered 3 goals and Daniella Bucior totaled 7 saves and 9 steals as the Warriors beat Highland Park 6-2.

 

Mother McAuley 9 Lincoln-Way Central 8

The Mighty Macs went on the road to earn a hard-fought 9-8 win over LWC on Tuesday. Fran Williamson totaled 7 goals, Clare Bryar scored 2 times, and Geena Peyton made 8 saves in the win for McAuley. Liz Klock scored 3 goals, Kim Bernhard recorded 2 scores, and Sabrina Miglorini made 8 saves in the loss for the Knights. Cailey Davern, Kristi Howe, and Michelle Dundek each added one goal for the hosts.

 

Naperville Central 12 York 4

Jessica Fox, Kaela Codo, and Michelle Spaits each scored 3 goals and Sarah Guiliani added a key goal as the Redhawks beat York 12-4. Beth Ryan and Niki Kolbe each added one score, Faith Vandercar blocked 7 shots, and Codo and Kolbe combined to make 9 steals. Perri Brinkmeier scored 2 goals in the loss for the Dukes.

 

Naperville North 15 Hinsdale Central 2

Jilian Eiken recorded 5 goals and Katie Horn notched 4 scores as Naperville North topped Hinsdale Central 15-2 on Tuesday evening. Amber McClure, Dani DiMatteo, Helen Wei, and Taylor Stoner each added one goal and Kate MacDuff blocked 6 shots in the win for the Huskies. Frances Gibson and Molly Gates both scored once in the loss for the Red Devils.

 

Prospect 7 Buffalo Grove 2

Mary Schiavone scored 3 goals and Danielle McCallister, Faye Barry, Michelle Vuong, and Niki Neumann each scored once in the Knights' 7-2 win over Buffalo Grove.

 

Stevenson 19 Lake Forest 4

Allison Travetto, Autumn Hoang, and Melissa Gartenberg each scored 4 goals and Becky Callen blocked 9 shots as Stevenson defeated Lake Forest 19-4. Alex Adams and Joanie Newland each tallied 2 scores in the Patriots' win. Clare Wieland led the Scouts with 2 goals in the losing effort.

 

Wheeling 12 Meadows 4

Theresa Godlewski racked up 7 goals and 7 steals and Emily Sowa netted 3 goals as Wheeling defeated Meadows 12-4. Adrienne Rozmus and Argelia Diaz each added one score in the win for the Wildcats. Natalie Delporte totaled 2 goals and both Maggie Fiekes and Raven Holobud scored once in the loss for the Mustangs.
