The battle for the MSL East division title comes to a critical point in Wheeling on Wednesday, as Hersey and Wheeling both bring 7-1 records into their second meeting. The Huskies edged the Wildcats 6-5 on April 2 and could take a one game lead and own the tiebreaker between the two teams with a win, while the hosts could even the series and take a one game lead of their own with one game left to play.

Palatine 15 Barrington 4

Kristian Kalev recorded 7 goals, Omar El Hoffi added 3 scores, and Mihai Maior notched 2 scores as the Pirates clinched the MSL West title by beating Barrington 15-4. Wally Kleinfleldt also scored once and drew 5 ejections, Jacob Baran did not allow a goal on the defensive end, and both Mike Yurcheshen and Ryan Schlaiss scored once in the win for Palatine.

Fremd 12 Schaumburg 9

Dylan Assman recorded 7 goals to lead the Vikings to a 12-9 victory over Schaumburg in an MSL West contest on Wednesday. James Birriel scored 5 times and Austin Borst netted 4 goals in the loss for the Saxons.

 

Hersey 11 Wheeling 6

George Vladimirov scored 4 times and Jack Carroll put in 3 goals to help the Huskies clinch the MSL East title after beating Wheeling 11-6. Connor Reynolds also scored 2 goals in the win for Hersey. Nate Reiff and Noah Ihde both recorded 2 goals in the loss for the Wildcats.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 21 Lincoln-Way West 10

Broc Thompson scored 5 times, Haden Santefort put in 4 goals, and Jakobi McClellan made 22 saves as the Vikings defeated LWW 21-10. Luke Santefort, Marcus Perry, and Peter Mitchell each added 3 goals in the win for H-F. Jake Carlson netted 5 goals and Pat Dunne registered 2 scores in the loss for West.

 

Lockport 11 Bradley 7

Zach Elias scored 3 goals and Pat Melaniphy and Tyler Trench combined to make 12 saves in Lockport's 11-7 win over Bradley. Nick Dalzell tallied 4 goals and Carlos Leal racked up 2 scores and 3 assists in the loss for the Boilers.

 

Maine West 26 Taft 10

Tony Connor scored 7 goals and Dylan Schlimka notched 6 goals as the Warriors knocked off Taft 26-10 on Wednesday. Sebastien Hernandez totaled 4 goals and 5 assists while Bryan Weller and Alex Juscynzski also scored in the win for West.

 

St Ignatius 15 Whitney Young 5

Billy Barth and Tom Dowling both scored 4 goals and John Reyes notched 3 scores in the Wolfpack's 15-5 win over Young. Tym Zymon contributed 10 saves and 4 assists in the winning effort for SICP.

 

St Patrick 11 York 9

Connor O'Rourke and Joseph Gibson each registered 4 goals to lead the Shamrocks past York 11-9 in a nonconference affair on Wednesday. Wil Hubert totaled 6 scores in the loss for the Dukes.

 

Stagg 11 Lincoln-Way Central 8

Stagg went on the road to beat LWC 11-8 in a SWSC matchup on Wednesday. Zack Amendola scored 6 goals and Lane Holin blocked 13 shots for the Chargers. Kyle Forsythe scored 3 goals and made 4 steals, Conor McGowan added 2 goals, and Jake Burke scored once, blocked a penalty shot, and totaled 5 saves in the Knights' loss.

The Griffins outscored Andrew 5-0 in the second half to overcome a 6-2 deficit and earn a 7-6 victory on Wednesday in a key SWSC contest. Aimee Schaaf and Haley McCabe both recorded 3 goals and Taryn Linke added one score in the winning effort. Alison Sifuentes and Genny McCarthy each scored 2 times, Aoife Burke and Courtney Carter both added one score, and Anna Tamulonis made 7 saves in the loss for the T-Bolts.

Conant 18 Hoffman 2

Carmen Rosas recorded 7 goals and Angie Skittone netted 5 scores in Conant's 18-2 win over Hoffman. Barbra Smigla and Miranda Fenlon each added 2 goals and Maddy Demaret made 12 saves in the win for the Cougars.

 

Evanston 5 Lane 3

The Wildkits shutout the Indians 3-0 in the second half to claim a 5-3 victory on Wednesday.

 

Fremd 12 Schaumburg 2

Emma Hoffman and Samantha Barry both scored 3 goals and Emma Jeronimus saved 13 shots as Fremd defeated Schaumburg 12-2. Nicole Degla, Samantha DiCanio, and Tami Carlson all scored 2 times in the Vikings' win. Britney Vasquez and Rebecca Kasner each scored once in the loss for the Saxons.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 13 Stagg 1

Kristi Howe scored 3 times and Sabrina Miglorini made 9 saves in the Knights' 13-1 win over Stagg. Erin Muellerschoen and Cailey Davern both netted 2 goals and Delaney Shepard, Liz Klock, Madison Brown, Kim Bernhard, Nikki Howe, and Samantha Schletz each scored once in the winning effort.

 

Lincoln-Way West 6 Homewood-Flossmoor 3

Sarah Suppes and Shannon Soukup both recorded 2 goals and Brenna Bowers made 7 saves to help the Warriors get past the Vikings 6-3 on Wednesday. Bridget Soukup and Kailey Gallagher each added one score in the win for West. Megan Dunlavy scored 2 goals, Amber Barney added one goal, and Rebecca Tanner blocked 15 shots in the loss for H-F.

 

Maine West 13 Taft 8

Holly Wasicak notched 8 goals and both Emily Morrison and Kristen Burger scored 2 times as Maine West beat Taft 13-8 on Wednesday.

 

Oak Park 10 Neuqua Valley 1

The Huskies improved to 13-1 after going on the road to beat Neuqua Valley 10-1 in nonconference play. Maura Dahl registered 4 scores, both Genevieve Curry and Katie Appell scored 2 times, and Jordin Hale made 11 saves in the win for OPRF. Sammi Jacquez scored the lone goal for the Wildcats and Issi French blocked 24 shots in the losing effort.

 

Palatine 16 Barrington 5

Maryana Dvorska and Rachel Chumbook each tallied 5 goals and Caroline Wojtas added 3 scores as the Pirates beat Barrington 16-5 on Wednesday. Kim Butler totaled 10 saves and the trio of Kristen Anderson, Lauren Rasor, and Mathilde Mogensen all scored once for the winners. Laynie Barringer and Sam Gavars both scored 2 goals and Mia Latimer scored once in loss for the Fillies.

 

St Ignatius 11 Marian 5

The Wolfpack clinched a second place finish in the MCAC by beating Marian 11-5 on Wednesday.

 

St Viator 15 DLS 2

Chrissy Wimberly poured in 9 goals and Bridget Hulsebosch scored 4 goals as the Lions beat DLS 15-2. Laura Foss and Megan Drake each added a goal in the win for Viator.

 

Wheeling 7 Hersey 5

Theresa Godlewski scored 5 goals and Emily Sowa added 2 scores as Wheeling took control of the MSL East race with a 7-5 victory over Hersey on Wednesday evening.
