The Chargers will look to clinch the SWSC Blue title on Thursday night, but they will have to get past a hungry Sandburg team looking for a big road win as they prepare to make a typical late-season push for a state tournament berth.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON

5:00pm - #16 Andrew at #30 Lincoln-Way North

The T-Bolts will look to bounce back from Tuesday's loss to LWC in order to solidify their two-game lead in the SWSC Red, while the Phoenix will look for a key late season win that would make the divisional race much more interesting as the regular season winds down.

The Huskies go on the road to challenge Caroline Wojtas and the Pirates in an intriguing nonconference affair between a pair of teams looking to boost their chances of returning to the state tournament in 2015.

Stagg 15 Sandburg 8

Zack Amendola totaled 5 goals and Nick Amendola scored 4 times as the Chargers improved to 10-0 in the SWSC after a 15-8 victory over Sandburg. Evan Johnson, Gabe Jezierski and Peter Krivanec each got on the scoresheet for the winners, while Johnson and goalie Lane Holin (11 saves) led the way on the defensive end to help secure the win.

Andrew 10 Lincoln-Way North 3

The T-Bolts wrapped up the SWSC Red division title on Thursday after beating LWN 10-3. Dan Cavato put in 3 goals while Brett Hofer and Eric Villasenor each scored 2 goals in the win.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 7 Lincoln-Way West 5

Jake Burke stopped 13 shots to help the Knights fend off LWW 7-5 on Thursday evening.

 

Lockport 16 Lincoln-Way East 10

Joey Tomczuk scored 5 goals, Eric Johnson netted 4 scores while Matt Hinchley and Pat Melaniphy made 15 saves in the Porters' 16-10 triumph over LWE. Eric Krawczyk, Ian Greenway and Zach Elias also put in 2 goals apiece in the win for the visitors.

 

Lyons 16 Waubonsie Valley 7

The Lions went on the road to earn their second straight victory in the Western Suburbs by knocking off Waubonsie Valley 16-7 on Thursday. George Lundgren scored 6 goals, Sam Szczepaniak tallied 5 scores and Nathan Henderson put in 3 goals in the win for LT. Jack Linden also dished out 7 assists and combined with Nick Rosenberger to make 10 saves for the victors. Meanwhile, Cameron Steele and Jon McWhirter each scored 3 goals and Matt Koberstine scored once in the loss for the Warriors.

 

Naperville North 12 Palatine 8

Cole Jacobs recorded 4 goals to help lead the Huskies past Palatine 12-8. Matt McGee, Joe Tomashek and Reilly McDonnell each added 2 goals, Jack Roche made 14 saves and Brandon Morrow stopped 7 shots in the winning effort. Colin White scored 3 goals and Jake Conrad made 11 saves in the loss for the Pirates. Marcus Carter-Buckman and Ryan Schlaiss each added 2 goals while Jacob Baran scored once and Ivan Turkan dished out 3 assists for the visitors.

 

Schaumburg 17 Metea Valley 10

Jack Pyde scored 4 goals and Jamies Birriel scored 3 times in the Saxons' 17-10 win over Metea. Keegan Reilly scored 6 times in the losing effort for the Mustangs.

 

Von Steuben 18 Prosser 10

Haydon Peterson scored 6 goals and both Christopher Iza and Ethan Hamp scored 4 times to help lift the Panthers over Prosser 18-10. Kalvin Aguilar and Piotr Leszman each scored 3 goals while Hector Coz put in 2 scores in the losing effort.

 

York 20 Lane 9

Danny Stumpf totaled 6 goals and Logan Frendreis added 3 scores in the Dukes' 20-9 win over Lane. Jack Romito and Kolin Bergl also scored key goals for the hosts on Thursday night.

Stevenson 12 New Trier 2

Allison Travetto recorded 4 goals and 7 steals, Melissa Gartenberg scored 3 times and also made 7 steals and Lauren Burns stopped 9 shots in three quarters of work as the Patriots defeated New Trier 12-2. Autumn Honag added 2 goals while the trio of Alex Adams, Annika Hotchkiss and Claire Haas each scored once in Stevenson's win. Kaleigh Dolan and Sarah Caywood each tallied one score and Lauren Engelhard stopped 7 shots in the loss for the Trevians.

Elk Grove 8 Maine East 7 (OT)

Alyssa Rosenhorn connected on the game-winning goal in overtime as the Grenadiers outlasted Maine East 8-7 in extra time on Thursday. Lilly Lawrin led the victors with 4 goals while Rosenhorn scored 3 times for EGHS. Linds Hendren also scored one goal for the Grenadiers. Manka Arifi scored 3 goals and Sarah Hau-Pham netted 2 scores in the loss for the Blue Demons.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 16 Lincoln-Way West 7

Kim Bernhard recorded 7 goals and both Cailey Davern and Nikki Howe scored 3 times as the Knights got past LWW 16-7 on Thursday. Delaney Shepard also scored 2 goals while Erin Muellerschoen celebrated a birthday with one score in the win.

 

Lincoln-Way North 10 Andrew 2

Cassidy Degraff totaled 5 goals and 8 steals while Ellie Brtis and Julia Porco both scored 2 times as the Phoenix defeated Andrew 10-2. Jocie Moustis also scored one goal in the win for North.

 

Lyons 13 Waubonsie Valley 6

Caroline Walsh totaled 5 goals and 4 assists and both Almasa Duheric and Erin Yang netted 2 scores to help the Lions beat Waubonsie Valley 13-6. Jessie Wittenberg stopped 10 shots and dished out 2 assists while Annika Moore, Emma Hirt, Kaysie Stuba and Sara McTigue each tallied one score in the win for LT.

 

Metea Valley 8 Schaumburg 2

Alex Cerra registered 3 goals and Abby Smedley totaled 2 scores in the Mustangs' 8-2 triumph over the Saxons. Leah Hummel, Priscila Olivas and Samantha Etscheid each added one score in the win for the hosts. Brittney Vasquez and Danielle Grubb both tallied one score in the loss for Schaumburg.

 

Naperville Central 14 Fremd 1

Kaela Codo scord 5 goals, Alli Hansen and Beth Ryan each notched 2 scores and Faith Vandercar made 8 saves in the Redhawks' 14-1 win over the Vikings. Five other players scored one and the defense for the victors totaled 20 steals. Nicole Warnstedt tallied the lone goal in the loss for Fremd.

 

Naperville North 15 Palatine 5

Jilian Eiken tallied 5 scores, Hannah Wessel netted 3 scores and Katie Horn scored 2 times in the Huskies' 15-5 road win over Palatine. Caroline Wojtas notched all 5 goals in the loss for the Pirates. Maggie Terzic also made 5 saves in the losing effort.

 

Neuqua Valley 6 Conant 5

Morgan Miller recorded 4 goals and Zoe Salafatinos scored 2 times as the Wildcats edged Conant 6-5 on Thursday. Issi French also totaled 21 saves and 7 steals while Miller and Amy Blencowe each registered 4 steals for the hosts. The hosts trailed by one after both the first and second quarters but held the visitors scoreless in the second half to emerge with the one-goal win. Maddy Demaret stopped 7 shots in the loss for the Cougars.

 

Sandburg 10 Stagg 3

Clare Lawlor and Mia Robin each scored 3 goals and Morgan Bartelment made 6 saves as the Eagles beat Stagg 10-3. Caitlyn Olson, Mara O'Connor, Stephanie Pappas and Val Navarro each scored one goal while Lawlor dished out 4 assists and Olson led the defense with 4 steals.

 

STC East 9 Barrington 6

Lexy Kos scored 6 goals and December Fagen scored once and stopped 7 shots as the Saints upended the Fillies 9-6. Mia Latimer scored 3 times, Andrea Potgeiter netted 2 goals and Ellie Connors made 6 stops in the losing effort.
