FEATURED EVENT

STEVENSON TOURNAMENT

The Patriots host a crucial late-season tournament that often serves as a preview of the state tournament. This year is no exception, as several of the top teams in the state are in attendance. The top four teams in the state (Fenwick, Naperville Central, Stevenson, Lyons) are joined by Brother Rice, Loyola, Palatine, New Trier and Oak Park for an eighteen-game event that features a championship round on Saturday.

 

 

OTHER KEY EVENTS

CONANT TOURNAMENT

Conant hosts a ten-team, twenty-game event with an eccentric mix of teams that start play on Friday and continue throughout the day on Saturday. The Cougars are joined by BG, Lane, Libertyville, LWN, Maine West, Niles West, Neuqua, Northside and Sandburg for the festivities.

 

 

LINDBERGH TOURNAMENT

St Patrick heads to to Missouri for a late-season tournament at Lindbergh and will lock horns with several of the Show Me State's best teams. The Shamrocks face the hosts on Friday night and battle DeSmet on Saturday morning before heading to the championship round.

The Eagles head out on the road to face Wheeling in a nonconference game between Top 25 teams.

ROCKFORD TOURNAMENT

Fenwick travels across state lines to participate in the Rockford Tournament, an event featuring several of the top teams in Michigan. Can the Friars continue their success against their Michigan counterparts after they won the event last year and went 4-0 last weekend at Stevenson against Michigan teams?

CONANT TOURNAMENT

Conant 14 Buffalo Grove 1

Eight different players recorded goals for the Cougars as they opened their own event with a 14-1 victory over Buffalo Grove.

 

 

STEVENSON TOURNAMENT

Stevenson 4 Loyola 2

Cris Tomasetti scored 2 goals to lead the Patriots past Loyola 4-2 on Friday afternoon. Liam Holzer scored the eventual game-winner in the third period for the hosts while Collin Kapecki tacked on an insurance goal in the fourth quarter for the winners. Shaurya Gilani also came up big for the Patriots by making 19 saves to frustrate the Ramblers' offense. Andrew Hodur and Mike Considine each scored one goal in the loss for Loyola.

 

Fenwick 12 Brother Rice 7

Danny Farmer scored 5 goals and Ryan Masi notched 3 scores in the Friars' 12-7 win over Brother Rice. Andrew Bertschy, Jack Mahoney, Noah Groll and Tommy Martino each added one score and Will Skowron made 6 saves for the winners.

 

Naperville Central 8 Lyons 5

The Redhawks opened their tournament account with an 8-5 victory over Lyons. Kyle Jackson and Phillip Emden each totaled 3 goals while Kyle Jackson and Nick Walker each added one goal in the Central win. Meanwhile, George Lundgren scored 3 times and Sam Szczepaniak netted 2 goals in the loss for LT.

 

Stevenson 13 Palatine 3

Fenwick 16 Oak Park 2

Ryan Masi recorded 5 goals, Andrew Bertschy totaled 3 scores and 4 assists and Will Skowron blocked 13 shots as Fenwick downed Oak Park 16-2. Danny Farmer and Mickey McGuire each tallied 2 scores while Bailey Wendt scored once and dished out 3 assists in the victory.

 

Naperville Central 9 New Trier 8

Kyle Jackson scored the game-winner midway through the final period to help the Redhawks cap off a 3-0 run in response to an 8-6 deficit in the final period to edge New Trier 9-8 in the late game on Friday night. Jackson and Christian May each scored 3 goals while Nick Walker scored 2 times and Brian Calabrese put in one goal in the win. Alex Grant tallied 4 scores in the one-goal loss for the Trevians.

Sandburg 17 Wheeling 9

Sarah Dolitsky totaled 7 goals and 4 assists, Clare Lawlor scored 4 goals and Morgan Bartelment made 12 saves as the Eagles went on the road to beat Wheeling 17-9. Stephanie Pappas also scored 3 goals and dished out 7 assists while Katie Flaherty, Mara O'Connor and Mary Mangila each tallied one score in the win for Sandburg. Theresa Godlewski netted 6 goals, Argelia Diaz scored 2 times and Jenna Pink tallied one score in the losing effort.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Jones-Payton 15 DLS 9

Lindsay Opie, Marlee Nork and Rebecca Sudworth each scored 3 goals and Meredith Lohman registered 2 scores as the Lady Eagles defeated DLS 15-9. Anais Nyberg-Gonzalez, Dallas Brodersen, Ola Borysiewicz and Nicole Culver each added one goal in the win for the hosts.

 

STC East 5 Schaumburg 4

Lexy Kos recorded 4 goals to lead the Saints to a 5-4 victory over Schaumburg on Friday evening.

 

York 9 Northside 5

Grace Achepohl recorded 3 goals to lead York past Northside 9-5 on Friday night. Jessica Skipper totaled 3 goals and Rebekah Kissel tallied 2 scores in the loss for the Mustangs.
