MATCH OF THE DAY

Stevenson 8 St Ignatius 7

Andrew Shashin broke a 6-6 deadlock early in the fourth quarter and Kurt Holzer scored the eventual game-winning goal for Stevenson as they held off a fierce challenge from St Ignatius to earn an 8-7 victory. Shashin and Collin Kapecki each scored 2 goals and Shaurya Gilani made 19 saves in the home win for the Patriots. Cris Tomasetti, Dan Maleski and Liam Holzer also scored once for the victors.

 

Shane Hughes scored 4 goals for the Wolfpack to lead the offense while Brendan Stelmach, Greg Glaab and Theo Mossman each scored once in the losing effort. Stelmach's goal came with 0:44 left in regulation and SICP had a chance to send the game to overtime after a timeout with 0:14 remaining but could not muster up the equalizer.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Barrington 16 Palatine 10

Chase Lesniak notched 4 scores and Matt Gouskos recorded 3 goals as the Broncos capped off a perfect season in the MSL West by beating Palatine 16-10. Colin White, Jacob Baran, Marcus Carter-Buckman and Ryan Schlaiss each scored 2 goals and Jake Conrad made 14 saves for the Pirates.

 

Buffalo Grove 11 Meadows 4

Chris Schulstad scored 4 times and Ryan Lawson scored 3 goals as the Bison defeated Meadows 11-4 on Monday. Anthony Sorgani also scored 2 goals in the win for BG.

 

DLS 8 Mt Carmel 0

Andreas Wolf, Joe Koziol and Robert Rodriguez each scored 2 goals and Eder Rebollar earned a shutout as the Meteors blanked Mt Carmel 8-0 on Monday.

 

Fremd 15 Schaumburg 14 (OT)

Dylan Assmann and Zach Starkey each tallied 3 goals while Dan Anderson, Matt Jordan and Robert DePau all scored 2 times as the Vikings outlasted the Saxons 15-14 in overtime on Monday. Jack Pyde totaled 6 goals and 6 steals, Christian Zielinski netted 3 goals and both James Birriel and Tyler Gustafson recorded 2 scores in the loss for Schaumburg.

 

Jones-Payton 12 Latin 7

Steven Fitzgerald and Will Macellaio each scored 3 times for the Eagles as they knocked off Latin 12-7. Sam Orlin led the Romans' offense with 3 goals.

 

Neuqua Valley 15 York 3

Simon Shatinsky scored 5 goals, Joey Dalesandro racked up 4 goals and 16 steals, and Austin Mollway made 15 saves in the Wildcats' 15-3 triumph over York. Ian Ivkovich and Scott DePuy both put in 2 goals while Carter Edwards and Lucas Becker each scored once in the win.

 

Waubonsie Valley 11 Riverside-Brookfield 10

Cameron Steele and Jon McWhirter each tallied 5 goals and Cedrick Chan made 18 saves as the Warriors edged R-B 11-10 on Monday night. Steele also drew 6 ejections in the win for the hosts. Paul Sitkiewicz scored 5 goals and Joey Rosa netted 2 scores in the loss for the Bulldogs.

Naperville Central 7 Mother McAuley 4

Kaela Codo registered 5 goals and Faith Vandercar stopped 11 shots as the Redhawks overcame a 3-2 halftime deficit to get past Mother McAuley 7-4. Emily Westlove also scored 2 times while Vandercar made nearly half of her saves in the fourth quarter to help Central survive a late onslaught from the visitors. Claire Mueller scored 2 goals and both Frances Bauer and Tess Bowens tallied one score in the loss for the Mighty Macs.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Conant 15 Hoffman 0

The Cougars wrapped up a perfect season in the MSL West after shutting out Hoffman 15-0 on Monday. Carmen Rosas totaled 7 goals, the trio of Barbra Smigla, Paulina Chowaniec and Sarah Gregory each scored 2 goals and Maddy Demaret made 11 saves in the win. Keri Keppler and Emily Weingart also added one goal each for the victors.

 

Jones-Payton 16 Latin 5

Rebecca Sudworth poured in 7 goals and Meredith Lohman added 3 scores in the Lady Eagles' 16-5 win over Latin. Dallas Broderson also registered 2 goals in the win.

 

Meadows 7 Buffalo Grove 6

Erin Pletch scored 5 goals, Sara Luedloff netted 2 scores and Betsy Zanocco made 13 saves as Meadows overcame a 5-4 deficit in the fourth quarter to beat Buffalo Grove 7-6.

 

Neuqua Valley 7 York 3

Heather Sterchele recorded 2 goals and Issi French made 10 saves as the Wildcats outlasted York 7-3 on Tuesday. Catherine Carroll, Gabby Koopmann, Morgan Miller, Sarah Neary and Zoe Salafatinos all put in one goal as well for the winners.

 

Palatine 9 Barrington 1

Caroline Wojtas totaled 15 goals and Tess O'Broen made 15 saves to help the Pirates beat Barrington 9-1 on Monday. O'Brien also scored once along with Caitlin McHugh and Kelsey Hank in the win. Nicole Runtz scored one goal and Elizabeth Connors stopped 9 shots in the loss for the Fillies.

 

Wheeling 10 Hersey 3

Theresa Godlewski scored 5 goals, Jenna Pink and Paulina Stolarska each netted 2 goals and Elizabeth Wargo stopped 14 shots in the Wildcats' 10-3 win over Hersey. The win seals a perfect season in the MSL East for the division winners.
