BOYS

CSL TOURNAMENT

Evanston 17 Highland Park 7

Wes Marberry scored 7 goals to lift the Wildkits past the Giants 17-7. Kevin Donovan scored 2 times in the loss for HP.

 

Maine East 9 Glenbrook North 5

Amir Mashyekhi tallied 4 scores to lead the Blue Demons to a 9-5 victory over GBN. Mike Babula put in 4 goals in the loss for the Spartans.

 

New Trier 17 Niles West 5

Jason Bartha recorded 5 goals and Joey Ryan added 4 scores as the Trevians earned a 17-5 win over Niles West to advance to the CSL title game.

 

Glenbrook South 11 Maine South 3

JJ Connor registered 5 scores and Ryan Hianik netted 3 goals as GBS avenged an early season loss in beating Maine South 11-3.

 

Evanston 6 Maine East 3

Wes Marberry scored 3 goals as Evanston defeated Maine East 6-3 on Saturday in the CSL's fifth-place game.

 

Maine South 10 Niles West 2

Makai DeNeve-Arnam totaled 3 goals in the Hawks' 10-2 win over Niles West in the third-place game.

 

New Trier 17 Glenbrook South 8

Jordan Palmer poured in 7 goals and both Jason Bartha and Nate Urban netted 3 scores in New Trier's title-winning 17-8 victory over GBS. Ryan Hianik led the Titans with 3 scores in the losing effort.

 

MCAC TOURNAMENT

Fenwick 13 St Ignatius 5

Dan Kelly scored 4 goals, Rich Mueller notched 3 scores, and Viken Huening put in 2 goals in Fenwick's 13-5 triumph over St Ignatius. Billy Barth, Brayden Amendola, and Jaime Juarez each scored one time in the loss for the Wolfpack.

 

Loyola 16 Brother Rice 10

Brendan Hulseman tallied 3 goals and Danny Stauder, Erik Goosmann, and Tim Netzel each recorded 2 scores as the Ramblers defeated Brother Rice 16-10. Mike Mulcrone scored 7 goals in the loss for the Crusaders.

 

Brother Rice 16 St Ignatius 11

Kevin Mayer and Mike Mulcrone both recorded 7 goals in the Crusaders' 16-11 victory over St Ignatius in the third-place game of the MCAC Tournament. Brayden Amendola registered 5 scores and Jaime Juarez added 3 scores for SICP.

 

Fenwick 9 Loyola 8

Viken Huening scored 4 goals, Dan Kelly chipped in with 2 scores, and Tommy McGuire made 9 saves as Fenwick held off Loyola 9-8 to win the Catholic League title in 2012. Charlie Dowdle, Jordan Hodur, and Tim Netzel each rang up 2 scores in the loss for the Ramblers, who evened the score at halftime and saw their late rally come up one goal short.

 

METEA VALLEY TOURNAMENT

Metea Valley 19 Elk Grove 9

Jordan O'Brien recorded 4 scores and Alex Vass notched 3 goals in the Mustangs' 19-9 triumph over Elk Grove.

 

Bremen 9 Barrington 8

Quinn Johnson tallied 5 goals to help Bremen slip past Barrington 9-8 on Saturday.

 

Metea Valley 14 Barrington 7

Alex Gidlow notched 4 scores, Alex Vass chipped in with 3 scores, and Alex Walter and Jordan O'Brien both totaled 2 scores in Metea's 14-7 win over Barrington.

 

Bremen 12 Elk Grove 9

Quinn Johnson poured in 9 goals to help Bremen earn a 12-9 win over Elk Grove.

 

Metea Valley 14 Bremen 5

Cameron Weber recorded 4 goals and both Alex Gidlow and Alex Vass contributed 2 scores to help the hosts top Bremen 14-5.

 

STEVENSON TOURNAMENT

Stevenson 12 Naperville Central 8

Alex Shkiler totaled 5 goals and Kyle Plotsky netted 3 scores as Stevenson beat Naperville Central 12-8. Matt Reasons scored 4 times and Dennis Herron chipped in with 2 scores in the loss for Central.

 

Naperville Central 13 Lincoln-Way Central 0

Matt Prestinario earned a shutout to help lift the Redhawks to a 13-0 victory over LWC on Saturday. Kyle Stablein also scored 3 goals in the winning effort for NC.

 

Naperville Central 13 Neuqua Valley 4

Matt Reasons scored 5 goals to lead the Redhawks past Neuqua 13-4. Alex Thoele tallied 2 scores for the Wildcats in the loss.

 

Stevenson 15 Lincoln-Way Central 8

Alex Shkiler, Kyle Plotsky, and Mitchell Sokolsky each scored 3 times and Remy Dalloul added 2 goals in Stevenson's 15-8 win over LWC. Connor McGowan registered 4 scores in the loss for the Knights.

 

Neuqua Valley 15 Lincoln-Way Central 5

Alex Thoele and Brian DePuy both scored 4 goals and Simon Shatinsky added 3 scores as Neuqua defeated LWC 15-5 on Saturday.

 

Stevenson 15 Neuqua Valley 7

Alex Shkiler poured in 5 goals, Mitchell Sokolsky netted 4 scores, and Kyle Plotsky registered 2 goals in Stevenson's 15-7 win over Neuqua Valley. Drew Dvorchak scored 3 times and Alex Thoele slammed home 2 more goals in the loss for the Wildcats.

 


 

GIRLS

CPS TOURNAMENT

Whitney Young 7 Lane 5 (OT)

Susy Zizumbo scored the game-tying goal with :04 left in regulation to send the CPS title game to extra time, where the Dolphins outscored the Indians 2-0 to earn a 7-5 victory on Saturday afternoon. Young bounced back from an early 4-0 deficit after the opening period; they outscored Lane 7-1 the rest of the game. Nya Wilkins made 20 saves, including a crucial five-meter block in the second overtime period. Emily Asai also scored 2 times in the win for the Dolphins.

 

CSL TOURNAMENT

New Trier 13 Glenbrook North 8

Alexana Astor scored 4 times, Isabelle Baneaux added 3 goals, and Kelsey Willian notched 2 scores in New Trier's 13-8 victory over GBN. Hannah Caywood also registered 10 saves for the Trevians, who moved to the CSL title game with the win. Mary Claire Seeberg and Vladi Milutinovic both recorded 3 goals in the loss for the Spartans.

 

Maine South 16 Maine East 13

Tyler Gooding tallied 8 scores as the Hawks defeated Maine East 16-13 to advance to the CSL title game.

 

Glenbrook North 9 Maine East 7

Mary Claire Seeberg scored the game-winning goal in the final minute of regulation to lift GBN past Maine East 9-7 in the third-place game of the CSL's postseason tournament. Seeberg tallied 4 scores in the win for the Spartans. Maria Protic led the Blue Demons with 4 scores in the losing effort.

 

New Trier 19 Maine South 9

Alexana Astor, Jocelyn Kupets, Kelsey Willian, and Lindsey Siegel all scored 3 times and both Meghan Frank and Isabelle Baneaux added 2 goals as New Trier beat Maine South 19-9 to claim the CSL title. Hannah Caywood blocked 18 shots in the Trevians' win.

 

MCAC TOURNAMENT

Fenwick 19 Loyola 2

Cara Borkovec totaled 6 goals, Haley Wickham poured in 5 goals, and Maureen Barron slotted home 4 scores as Fenwick rolled to a 19-2 semifinal victory over Loyola. Colleen Barron also added 2 scores in the Friars' win. Allison Sajnaj and Marta Considine each nicked one score in the losing effort.

 

St Ignatius 8 Mother McAuley 4

Stephanie Fernandez registered 4 scores and Rebecca Martinez tallied 2 scores as the Wolfpack beat Mother McAuley 8-4 in the second semifinal of the MCAC Tournament on Saturday. Kristen Kleist, Meg Golon, Adrianna Izquierdo, and Vicky Arciniega each scored once in the loss for the Mighty Macs.

 

Mother Mcauley 13 Loyola 7

Amy Kopale, Clare Bryar, Kristen Kleist, and Vicky Arciniega each scored 4 times to help lift Mother McAuley past Loyola 13-7 in the MCAC's third-place game. Marta Considine scored 3 goals and Evan Swenson added 2 scores in the Ramblers' loss.

 

Fenwick 13 St Ignatius 7

Colleen Barron scored 5 goals and Maureen Barron recorded 4 goals as Fenwick defeated St Ignatius 13-7 to win the Catholic League title on Saturday. Rebecca Insalaco, Rebecca Martinez, and Tammy Stelnicki each netted 2 scores in the loss for the Wolfpack.

 

METEA VALLEY TOURNAMENT

Metea Valley 9 Elk Grove 5

Lizzie Hollopeter recorded 4 goals and Maria Palladino notched 2 scores in the Mustangs' 9-5 win over Elk Grove on Saturday morning. Alexa Zajac led the Grenadiers with 2 goals in the loss.

 

Barrington 14 Elk Grove 1

Kate Luedtke tallied 4 goals and both Grace Buenrostro and Lisa Danhauer scored 3 times in Barrington's 14-1 win over Elk Grove.

 

Barrington 10 Bremen 9

Kate Luedtke registered 4 scores and Lisa Danhauer added 2 goals as the Fillies edged Bremen 10-9. Nora Plank scored 4 goals and Hannah Schultz put in 3 scores in the loss for the Red Jaguars.

 

Metea Valley 12 Barrington 7

Maria Palladino recorded 4 goals and Alex Conti netted 3 scores as Metea beat Barrington 12-7. Lisa Danhauer and Sam Gavars each scored 2 times in the Fillies' loss.

 

Bremen 9 Elk Grove 1

Hannah Schultz notched 4 scores in as Bremen cruised to a 9-1 victory over Elk Grove.

 

Bremen 9 Metea Valley 5

Nora Plank registered 6 goals to lead the Red Jaguars to a 9-5 win over Metea Valley. Lizzie Hollopeter scored 2 times in the losing effort for the Mustangs.

 

STEVENSON TOURNAMENT

Stevenson 4 Naperville Central 3

Cami Haas scored the game-winning goal in the closing seconds of regulation and totaled 3 goals to lead Stevenson to a 4-3 win over Naperville Central on Saturday. Lisa Michalowski also made 12 saves in the hosts' victory. Lauren Gunn totaled 2 scores and Julia Campbell blocked 8 shots in the Redhawks' loss.

 

Naperville Central 15 Lincoln-Way Central 0

Julia Campbell earned a shutout after making 10 saves as the Redhawks bounced back from an early loss to beat LWC 15-0. Abbey Kerth and Emily Sejna each scored 4 times in the Redhawks win.

 

Naperville Central 16 Neuqua Valley 1

Abbey Kerth scored 7 goals, Emily Sejna tallied 3 scores, and Jenny Doyle tacked on 2 goals in Central's 16-1 victory over Neuqua Valley. Danielle Tout scored the lone goal for the Wildcats.

 

Stevenson 14 Lincoln-Way Central 7

Erin McCook registered 6 goals and both Alex Kanaris and Brittany Gartenberg added 2 scores as the hosts earned a 14-7 decision over LWC. Danijela Jackovich scored 4 goals and Brittany Knowlton put in 2 scores in the loss for the Knights.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 10 Neuqua Valley 6

Danijela Jackovich recorded 7 goals to lead the Knights to a 10-6 win over Neuqua. Eileen Skowronski tallied 2 scores in the loss for the Wildcats.

 

Stevenson 7 Neuqua Valley 2

Ashley Oliver and Erin McCook both tallied 2 scores to help Stevenson earn a 7-2 . Ann Kathrin Becker led the Wildcats with 2 scores in the losing cause.

 

WSC TOURNAMENT

York 13 Hinsdale Central 8

Lauren Tamm scored 4 goals, Katie Nelson netted 3 scores, and Perri Brinkmeier tallied 2 scores as York beat Hinsdale Central 13-8. Becca Heisler also totaled 22 saves in the victory for the Lady Dukes.
