Week 6 Ballers

 

BOYS

Drew Stoffel (Stagg)

Stoffel totaled 13 goals in Stagg's trip to Missouri, leading the Chargers to a 2-2 record and wins over Lindbergh and SLUH. Stoffel was also named to the DeSmet Tourney's All-Tournament Team.

 

Mark Alvarado (St Ignatius)

Alvarado scored 7 times in a 14-4 win over York and also added 4 scores in the Wolfpack's 11-10 upset win over #1 Oak Park on Saturday.

 

Mike Rooney (Neuqua Valley)

Rooney scored 7 goals in a 19-10 win over Andrew, added 5 scores in an 11-7 victory over Naperville North, and put in 4 scores in a 15-4 win over R-B. He also helped lead the Wildcats to a runner-up finish at the Sandburg Tournament, scoring 5 times in a 10-8 loss to Sandburg.

 

Reilly Shanahan (McHenry)

The Warriors' leading scorer finished a 16-5 win over Lake Forest with 8 goals and 6 steals.

 

Zach Demertzis (Glenbrook South)

Demertzis totaled 5 goals and 5 steals in the Titans' 12-11 win over Evanston in a closely contested CSL contest.

 

 

 

GIRLS

Allie Grimes (Lyons)

Grimes totaled 10 goals and 9 assists as Lyons earn wins over three Top 10 teams over the weekend at the Ignatius Tournament.

 

Alyssa Toland (Lincoln-Way East)

Toland led the Griffins to a 9-8 win over Stevenson with a scoreline that included 5 goals, 4 steals, and 3 assists.

 

Catherine Vivado (Bremen)

Vivado scored 12 goals at the Vernon Hills Tournament, including 5 scores in the title game win over Conant, as Bremen improved to 22-2 on the season in 2010.

 

Claire Fleming (Naperville Central)

Claire Fleming totaled 16 goals at the Jenison Tournament in Michigan, helping lead the undefeated Redhawks to an out-of-state tournament title over the weekend.

 

Erika Lauraitis (Fremd)

Lauraitis led the Vikings to another tournament title over the weekend at Stevenson, totaling 13 goals in wins over Lincoln-Way East, Stevenson, and Young.

 

Katelyn Jacobs (Lyons)

Jacobs scored 9 goals and added 19 assists in LT's 4-0 performance at the St Ignatius Tournament on Friday and Saturday at UIC.

 

Karen Lowry (Stevenson)

Lowry recorded the game-winning goal in overtime against Young and scored 7 total goals in a 9-8 victory over Young.

 

Michelle Mayer (Homewood-Flossmoor)

Mayer scored 12 goals in wins over Loyola, Marian, and Waubonsie Valley at the St Ignatius Tournament over the weekend, including a game-winning goal on a backhand shot in the final minute of their 6-5 victory over Loyola on Friday.
