Week 7 Ballers

 

BOYS

Dylan O'Connell (Oak Park)

O'Connell registered 4 goals in the Huskies' 12-6 victory over Naperville Central and tacked on 5 scores in a 10-7 win over Mundelein.

 

David Sekula (Lyons)

Sekula recorded 9 scores to lead Lyons to an 18-9 victory over St Ignatius on Saturday afternoon.

 

Brad Ferris (Palatine)

Ferris totaled 20 goals and 14 steals over the weekend at the GBS Tournament, leading his team to a 4-0 record and the tourney title. He also added 17 more goals in wins over Fremd, Naperville North, and Schaumburg last week.

 

Kyler VanSwol/Nick Roberts (Lincoln-Way North)

The Phoenix duo combined to total 13 goals and 11 assists in an 18-6 win over Andrew and also combined for 13 goals in a win over Bradley.

 

Eduardo Chavez (Curie)

Chavez registered 8 goals in Curie's 18-8 win over Young, helping the Condors stay perfect in the CPS.

 

Shane Sueschek/Shaun Suescheck (STC East)

The Saints' duo combined to score 15 goals in STC East's surprise win over St Viator in overtime on Thursday.

 

 

GIRLS

Abbey Kerth (Naperville Central)

The Redhawks' sophomore led the team in scoring with 9 goals over the weekend in wins over Evanston, Jenison, and Sandburg.

 

Adrianna Hoak (Lyons)

Hoak scored 4 goals in a 9-7 victory over #3 St Ignatius on Saturday, including 3 scores during a key 5-0 run in the third quarter that helped the Lions earn the win.

 

Celeste Almarez (St Ignatius)

The Wolfpack senior scored 4 times in an overtime win over Latin on Monday night and added 3 goals in a 6-5 victory over Naperville Central.

 

Claire Strunk (Evanston)

Strunk totaled 52 saves this week as Evanston went 5-1 with wins over Glenbrook South, Latin, New Trier, Jenison, and Sandburg. She made 20 saves in an 8-3 victory over Latin and also stopped 16 shots to help the Wildkits beat New Trier 6-5.

 

Lindsay Jansen (Naperville North)

Jansen totaled 10 goals on Saturday in the Naperville North Tournament, helping the Huskies beat Marian, Stagg, and Young to claim the title with a 3-0 record.

 

Stephanie Ovalle (Fenwick)

Ovalle came up big in three Fenwick wins during the week, scoring 3 times in an 8-6 win over St Viator, adding 5 goals in an overtime win over Naperville Central, and scoring 4 times, including an overtime goal in an 8-6 win over Latin.
