Week 5 Super Ballers

BOYS

Armando Lee/David Anderson (Oak Park)

The top-ranked Huskies went 3-0 at the Stevenson Tourney on Saturday to stay perfect in 2010, in large part because of the performances of Armando Lee and David Anderson.

Lee scored 11 goals in three games and Anderson stopped 31 total shots as Oak Park earned victories over McHenry, Latin, and Stevenson.

GIRLS

Grace Trilla and the LT Defense (Lyons)

Selecting one player from Lyons as a Super Baller proved difficult, so the following top performers at the Fenwick Tournament all earn mention as Super Ballers for the fifth week of the season: Adriana Hoak, Allie Grimes, goalie Grace Trilla, Katelyn Jacobs, Kirby Kaptur, and Lizzy Kosin.

Trilla earned shutout wins over Neuqua and Evanston over the weekend, allowed just one goal in a 16-1 victory over #6 Loyola, and gave up just 3 scores in a 12-3 win over #7 Mother McAuley. She also racked up 7 assists in the four-game set.

A big key to her performance was the Lions' defense, who helped limit four ranked opponents at the tournament and have led LT to the #1 ranking after five weeks of play.

On the offensive end, a balanced attack helped the Lions outscore their opponents at the tournament 60-4.

Kirby Kaptur and Lizzy Kosin led the team with 13 goals apiece, with Kaptur scoring 5 goals against both Neuqua and Loyola and Kosin totaling 6 goals against McAuley. Adriana Hoak tallied 12 goals, Katelyn Jacobs added 11 scores and 11 assists, and Allie Grimes scored 6 times and added 12 assists over the weekend.

The Lions improved to 14-0 on the season after winning their side of the bracket at the tournament.
