The Lions cruised to a 17-7 victory over Meadows to improve to 12-13 on the
season as they advanced to take on Fremd on Thursday.
(9) Elk Grove 8 (8) Barrington 5
Chris Dovult and Kyle Phillips both recorded 3 goals and Anthony Stacey
blocked 10 shots as Elk Grove earned a surprise 8-5 victory over Barrington
on Tuesday. Alex Collazo added 2 scores in the win for the Grenadiers, who
just lost to the Broncos 15-5 last Saturday. Chase Lesniak totaled 4 goals,
David Kline put in one score, and Sean McCarthy blocked 10 shots in the loss
for Barrington.

(2) Fremd 16 (7) St Viator 12
JP French racked up 7 goals and Matt
Emerson netted 3 scores to help lead the Vikings to a 16-12 victory over St
Viator. Connor Helsdingen and Matt Zambelli each added 2 scores in the win.
Rob Battin totaled 6 goals and Keegan Finn scored 4 times in the loss for
the Lions.
(3) Hoffman 10 (6) Prospect 6
Adam Pasnicki recorded 8 goals and Logan Gizel blocked 17 shots as Hoffman
earned a methodical 10-6 win over Prospect on Thursday to advance to the
sectional semifinals. Nick Jessee and Sang Han scored one goal apiece in the
winning effort for the Hawks.
Friday, May 10
Semifinals
(1) Conant 13 (5) Schaumburg 0
Aly Ahmed and the
Conant defense recorded a 13-0 shutout of Schaumburg as the Cougars moved on
to the sectional finals of the Fremd tournament on Friday night.
(3) Hoffman 6 (2) Fremd 4
Adam Pasnicki registered 5 goals and
Logan Gizel blocked 18 shots as Hoffman Estates pulled off a 6-4 upset of
Fremd after losing to the Vikings twice in the regular season. Luke Iehl
added one goal for the Hawks, who built a 5-2 lead in the second half and
hung on for a two-goal victory. Luke Stark scored 2 goals while both Matt
Emerson and Matt
Zambelli scored once in the loss for the hosts.
