The Griffins started their 2016 campaign with a 17-7 victory over Bremen in nonconference action. Stats for the victors were unavailable. Meanwhile, David Saureman and Michael Feeley both scored 3 times in the losing effort.

 

Lincoln-Way North 8 Sandburg 4

Tommy Budney scored 3 goals and Tom Trojniar led the defense with 5 steals as the Phoenix defeated Sandburg 8-4.

 

McHenry 16 Glenbrook North 6

Jackson Smith and Kevin Braun each registered 6 goals to lead the Warriors to a 16-6 victory over GBN on Wednesday. Jonah Smith, Josh Forst, Mike Matusek and Tyler Hemphill each added one score in the first win of the season for McHenry.

 

Meadows 6 Hersey 2

Charlie Borta registered 27 saves to help lift the Mustangs over Hersey 6-2 on Wednesday.

 

Morgan Park 16 Lindblom 5

Christian Cooper tallied 8 scores and Mike Crawley totaled 4 goals and 6 steals as Morgan Park knocked off Lindblom 16-5.

 

Schaumburg 18 Hoffman 2

Tyler Gustafson recorded 5 goals and both Ardit Breznica and Sam Thomas notched 3 scores to help the Saxons beat Hoffman 18-2. Andrew Jun, Michael Burke and Parker Koress each added 2 goals while Matt Soltau scored once in the winning effort. Eric Callisen and Mark Heitkotter each scored once in the loss for the Hawks.

 

Steinmetz 11 Washington 4

Carlos Sanchez registered 8 goals to lead Steinmetz past Washington 11-4 in a CPS contest.

 

St Ignatius 16 Whitney Young 8

Shane Hughes notched 7 scores, Andreas Christy added 4 scores and Sam Enger made 10 saves in the Wolfpack's 16-8 win over Whitney Young. Bradley Yendro tallied 2 scores as well for the victors.

 

Stevenson 20 DLS 2

Andrew Shashin racked up 7 goals, Cristiano Tomasetti scored 5 times and Charlie Day made 8 saves in the Patriots' 20-2 victory over DLS. Dan Maleski and Justin Ginsberg each added 2 goals while Collin Kapecki, Kurt Holzer and Rahun Arun each scored once in the win. Alex Cruz and Shane Nagle each put in one score for the Meteors in the loss.

 

STC East 17 Maine South 4

Andrew Roberge scored 11 goals to lead the Saints to a 17-4 victory over Maine South. Ethan Braham put in 3 goals, Tanner Schisler netted 2 scores and Kyle Chapko scored once in the winning effort. Marko Bogicevic scored 3 times and Conor Brosnan tallied one score in the loss for the Hawks.

 

STC North 16 Waubonsie Valley 9

Nathan Bawolek scored 5 times, John Quinn totaled 4 scores and 5 steals and Garrett Allamian stopped 10 shots in the North Stars' 16-9 win over Waubonsie Valley. Jack Williams, Kieran Murphy and Sam Lilly each scored 2 times for the winners. Sam Cruger netted 5 goals, Jon McWhirter scored 2 goals and Spencer Weiland made 9 saves in the loss. Quentin Tiscareno and Wyatt Tiscareno each scored 3 times as well for the Warriors.

Claire Mueller totaled 5 goals and Geena Peyton stopped 8 shots as the Mighty Macs defeated Loyola 9-3. Paulina Correa added 2 goals while both Annie Kelly and Julie Olivares each scored once in the win.

Ashley Helminski, Kiki Herbst, Mathilde Mogensen and Tess O'Brien each scored once while Megan Woell made 10 saves in the losing effort.

Karolina Niemiec scored 3 times while Andie Dougherty, Katie Lindgren, Maxine Sullivan and Stephanie Surkin each scored once in Hersey's 7-2 win over Meadows. Betsy Zanocco scored once and made 10 saves while Maggie Goodwin also scored once in the loss.

 

Lake Forest 12 Maine West 7

Madeleine Pompe recorded 5 goals, Allison Majka netted 3 scores and Grace Donahue scored 2 times in the Scouts 12-7 victory over Maine West. Alyssa Hollander and Giselle Striedinger also tacked on one goal apiece in the win. Kristen Burger (4) and Veronica Dunn (3) combined to score all 7 goals for the Warriors in the loss.

 

Lane 10 Northside 7

Jazmin Rivera recorded 7 goals to lead the Indians past Northside 10-7. Heather Walker netted 3 scores, Rebekah Kissel tallied 2 scores and Fallon Konow made 12 saves in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 17 Marian 2

Alex Carter, Ceatta Sense, Maddie Clark, Meave Bower, Megan Cales and Megan Forsythe each scored at least once to help the Knights secure a 17-2 win over Marian.

 

Lincoln-Way North 21 Sandburg 10

Cassidy Degraff totaled 6 goals and 5 assists, Julia Porco added 4 goals and 5 assists and Sarah Jackson netted 3 scores as the Phoenix defeated Sandburg 21-10.

 

Prospect 9 Wheeling 3

Colleen Doyle scored 3 goals, Gracie Dix and Kirsten Chamberlin each scored 2 times and Mary Clare McAleer made 11 saves in the Knights' 9-3 win over Wheeling. Ann Fulk and Connie Vuong each added one score in the Prospect win. Argelia Diaz scored 2 goals and Holly Schoeder added one score for the Wildcats.

 

Schaumburg 6 Hoffman 2

Hannah Pearson scored 2 goals while Emily Droege, Ingrid Hay, Jessica Bukielski and Joey Trujillo each scored once in the Saxons' 6-2 triumph over Hoffman. Francia Morales-Diaz and Jenny Fermaintt both scored once in the loss for the Hawks.

 

Waubonsie Valley 5 STC North 4

The Warriors played in another tight game and walked away with another close win as they beat STC North 5-4 on Wednesday. Alex Triko led the offense with 4 goals, Kimela Srey scored once and earned 3 steals and Rachael Farber (3 steals) made a strong impact on the defensive end. Brittany Veto scored 3 times, Hannah Turner and Katie Steele each scored once and Claire Rich made 10 saves in the loss.
