BOYS

Fenwick 12 Brother Rice 9

Matt Farmer recorded 4 goals, Matt Bresnahan scored 2 times, and Viken Huening totaled one goal and 5 steals in Fenwick's 12-9 win over rival Brother Rice. Mike Mulcrone scored 3 times and Mitch Strahlman added 2 goals in the loss for the Crusaders.

 

Foreman 15 Morgan Park 13

Juan Mendez tallied 6 goals to help Foreman edge Morgan Park 15-13 in CSL action. Ezekiel Watts scored 8 goals in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Lindblom 27 Kennedy 5

Marshawn Shelton recorded 15 goals to help lead Lindblom past Kennedy 27-5 on Monday evening.

 

Loyola 13 St Patrick 2

Brendan Hulseman and Brian Pinelli each scored 2 times in Loyola's 13-2 victory over St Patrick.

 

Lincoln-Way North 15 Bremen 8

Jake Roberts scored 6 goals and Curtis Thrun added 5 scores as the Phoenix outscored Bremen 9-3 in the second half en route to a 15-8 nonconference win.

 

Naperville North 11 Fremd 10

Aaron Katz totaled 5 goals and Gianmarco Duin and Jacob Thompson each added 2 scores to help the Huskies fend off the Vikings 11-10. Andre Degla scored 3 goals in the loss for Fremd, who trailed 7-6 at halftime.

 

St Ignatius 13 Mt Carmel 8

Ivan Dowling scored 3 goals and Tom Dowling nicked 2 scores in the Wolfpack's 13-8 conference victory over Mt Carmel.

 

Stagg 13 Conant 10

Juan Valdez totaled 7 goals and 4 steals to lead Stagg to a 13-10 win over Conant in nonconference play.

 

Stevenson 15 Palatine 8

Alex Shkiler registered 5 goals and Evan Woodward tallied 3 scores to lead the Patriots past the Pirates 15-8 in a nonconference contest. Robbie O'Brien also totaled 9 saves and allowed 2 goals in the win for Stevenson. Omar El Hoffi netted 3 scores in the losing effort for Palatine.

 

Taft 20 Mather 2

Aaron Lazalde poured in 8 goals and Jaime Riano scored 7 times in Taft's 20-2 triumph over Mather.

 

Von Steuben 19 Lincoln Park 11

Alvaro Ajredini poured in 9 goals in Von Steuben's 19-11 victory over Lincoln Park in CPS play.

 

York 18 Morton 7

Alex Waldherr recorded 7 goals and Patrick McKenna added 6 scores as York beat Morton 18-5 in a WSC contest on Monday.

 

GIRLS

Bremen 13 Lincoln-Way North 8

Hannah Schultz notched 5 scores and Emma Martinus put in 4 goals in Bremen's 13-8 victory over LWN. Jenna Tasic registered 5 goals in the loss for the Phoenix.

 

Buffalo Grove 11 Vernon Hills 5

Sara Fasching scored 4 goals, Julie Pater added 3 scores, and Yosselin Albarera notched 2 goals in BG's 11-5 triumph over Vernon Hills. Callie Fasching also stopped 19 saves in the victory for the Bison. Anna Lebiedzinski scored 4 goals in the loss for the Cougars.

 

Lake Forest 11 Maine South 6

Emily Nowlin tallied 4 goals and both Maggie Nass and Nori Kaufman added 2 scores to help the Scouts get past Maine South 11-6 on Monday.

 

Lockport 8 Hinsdale Central 4

Alyssa Black, Iza Zalesko, Liz Latka, and Megan Cavanaugh all scored 2 times in the Porters' 8-4 victory over Hinsdale Central.

 

Morgan Park 19 Foreman 1

Jenelle Wenner recorded 9 goals and Gracie Wenner tallied 6 scores as Morgan Park defeated Foreman 19-1.

 

Naperville North 9 Fremd 8 (3 OT)

Audrey Chien scored 3 goals and Taylor Bridgman added 2 scores as the Huskies surprised Fremd 9-8 on Monday. Lauren Zambelli scored 3 times and Sam del Prado connected with 2 scores in the loss for the Vikings.

 

New Trier 20 Deer Park 3

Lindsey Siegel notched 4 scores and Honore Lachenauer added 3 goals to help lead NT to a 20-3 victory over Deer Park in a Central Suburban League contest.

 

Northside 15 Curie 8

Meghan Quigley and Sarah Bodenstein each scored 4 goals and Megan Gillespie added 3 scores in NSP's 15-8 conference victory over Curie.

 

Prospect 10 Hersey 7

Mary Schiavone recorded 4 goals and both Jessica Cavaiani and Kallie Shields notched 3 scores in the Knights' 10-7 win over Hersey. Amanda Drucker stopped 16 shots in the win for Prospect. Allison Williams scored 5 times in the loss for the Huskies.

 

Sandburg 18 Richards 1

Tara Capouch scored 7 times and Jamie Pappanastos added 6 goals as Sandburg cruised to an 18-1 win over Richards.

 

Mother McAuley 12 Lincoln-Way Central 8

Amy Kopale registered 4 scores and both Adrianna Izquierdo and Kristen Kleist notched 2 scores to help lead the Mighty Macs to a 12-8 win over LWC. The Knights, who led for most of the first half, received 5 goals from Danijela Jackovich and 2 scores from Brittany Knowlton in the losing cause.

MATCH OF THE DAY

Fenwick at Brother Rice

There's no letup for the Friars (7-0) and Crusaders (4-3) after a weekend filled with contests against Top 25 teams. The big Catholic League rivalry takes place on the South Side when Brother Rice looks to bounce back from a 1-3 weekend against the undefeated defending champions.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

Naperville North at Fremd

The Vikings (6-1) disposed of two MSL West rivals and became the potential favorite to win the division.. They face another tough challenge as they look to continue their early season momentum when they play host to Naperville North (9-1), who finished in third at the Fenwick Tournament over the weekend.

 

GIRLS

MATCH OF THE DAY

Mother McAuley at Lincoln-Way Central

The Mighty Macs (7-3) have started the season off in fine fashion and will look to continue their winning ways when they head to New Lenox to try and slow down Danijela Jackovich and the Knights (1-1), who won their first game over the weekend.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

Fremd at Naperville North

Can the Vikings make it two in a row against the Huskies when they head to Naperville on Monday? They beat North 9-3 in the opening game of the Naperville Central Tournament last Friday.
