The Lions face a tough road test in the West Suburban Conference when they take on a Hinsdale Central team back to full-strength and looking to make some noise in the league's title race.

The Redhawks have been the elite team in Naperville for the past several seasons, so the Huskies will be out to prove they can overtake them when the two teams meet for the second time in 2013 at North.

New Trier 15 Loyola 6

Joey Ryan scored 4 times and Jordan Palmer notched 3 scores as New Trier knocked off Loyola 15-6.

Andrew 18 Waubonsie Valley 16 (OT)

Jake Villasenor scored the game-winning goal in overtime after Eric Tamulonis sent the game to extra time with one of his 5 goals as Andrew outlasted Waubonsie Valley 18-16 on Wednesday. Kevin Bukauski saved 13 shots and both Andrew Wojdyla and Chuck Walters scored 4 times in the win for the T-Bolts.

 

Hoffman 20 Highland Park 3

Adam Pasnicki recorded 7 goals, Sang Han put in 5 scores, and Logan Gizel blocked 10 shots as Hoffman defeated Highland Park 20-3 in a nonconference affair.

 

Lyons 11 Hinsdale Central 6

Josh Hirt scored 3 times and Joe Shannon, Michael Dow, and Sean McMahon each recorded 2 goals as the Lions pulled away from Hinsdale Central in the final period to earn an 11-6 victory. The victors used a 4-0 run in the fourth quarter to earn the West Suburban Conference win. Wade Kinney notched 3 scores for the Red Devils in the losing effort.

 

Morgan Park 20 Chicago Ag 9

Jackie Dempsey scored 9 goals, including 6 in the fourth quarter, and Mike Crowley put in 5 scores as the Mustangs defeated Chicago Ag 20-9 on Wednesday. Alan Gomez tallied 5 goals in the loss.

 

Palatine 12 Mundelein 9

Alex Brons and Kristian Kalev each tallied 3 scores and Peter Blackham made 15 saves to help Palatine storm back from a 4-1 deficit after the first quarter to earn a 12-9 win over Mundelein. Christian Kalfas and Wally Kleinfeldt each added 2 scores in the nonconference victory for the Pirates. Jason Rehor netted 5 goals and Connor Black scored 2 times in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Sandburg 14 Lincoln-Way Central 10

Zach Roper scored 6 goals, Kevin Tunney netted 5 scores, and Sean McNicholas made 15 saves to help the Eagles earn a 14-10 victory over LWC on Wednesday. Alex McCormick, Jake Muellerschoen, and Tristan Funk each scored 3 times in the loss for the Knights.

 

Stagg 15 Lincoln-Way West 9

Ryan Petersen totaled 6 goals and 4 steals, Nick Amendola put in 4 goals, and Peter Krivanec rejected 9 shots as Stagg downed LWW 15-9.

 

Taft 19 Lake View 17

Ricky Navarro poured in 11 goals and both John Marovic and Mark Griffin scored 3 times as Taft upended Lake View 19-17 on Wednesday.

 

Whitney Young 19 Northside 16

Seth Hughes registered 12 goals and Matt Gonzales made 7 saves as Whitney Young held off Northside 19-16 on Wednesday. Daniel Shumaker, Juan Reyes, and Victor Lau each added 2 scores in the win for the Dolphins.

Lincoln-Way Central 14 Sandburg 9

Liz Klock recorded 5 goals and 5 steals and Danijela Jackovich totaled 4 scores and 6 assists as LWC beat Sandburg 14-9 to grab sole position of first place in the SWSC Blue division. Brittany Kamper registered 3 scores in the loss for the Eagles.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Andrew 13 Waubonsie Valley 5

Annamarie Lettiere and Megan Hofer both scored 4 goals as Andrew used to a 7-0 run in the fourth period to run away with a 13-5 victory over Waubonsie Valley. Genny McCarthy tacked on 3 goals and Anna Tamulonis made 11 saves in the win for the T-Bolts. Kimela Srey led the Warriors with 2 scores.

 

Buffalo Grove 10 Lake Forest 2

Bridget Whited and Sam Morosan each scored 3 times in Buffalo Grove's 10-2 victory over Lake Forest.

 

Fremd 10 Meadows 5

Bre Anderson and Sam DiCanio both scored 2 goals to help the Vikings beat Meadows 10-5. Mandy Borre, Emma Hoffman, Leni Langas, Megan Younker, Nicole Degla, and Samantha Barry all chipped in with one goal each in the victory.

 

Lincoln-Way North 12 Bradley 3

Cheyenne Degraff and Sam Klosak both registered 4 scores as the Phoenix defeated Bradley 12-3. Katie Lehman scored 2 goals, Drew L'Ecuyer added one score, and Amber Forbes made 13 saves in the loss for the Boilers.

 

Lyons 14 Hinsdale Central 3

Blair Hopwood scored 4 times, Julia Cohen notched 3 scores, and Tegan Moore made 15 saves as Lyons beat Hinsdale Central 14-3. Carly Strass and Caroline Walsh each added 2 scores in the Lions' win. Liza Gross, Nina Relias, and Sarah Pircon each scored once in the loss for the Red Devils.

 

Naperville North 12 Naperville Central 11

Jillian Eiken netted 4 goals and Taylor Stoner registered 3 scores to help lift the Huskies over Naperville Central 12-11. Kate MacDuff made 8 saves, including 2 key stops in the fourth quarter, while both Kim Lechowicz and Taylor Bridgman added 2 goals in the win. Michelle Spaits led the Redhawks with 3 tallies, while Erin Reagan, Jenny Doyle, and Madison Nervig each scored 2 times in the loss.

 

Prospect 15 Hoffman 7

Kallie Shields poured in 5 goals and Emily Rigopoulos scored 4 times in Prospect's 15-7 win over Hoffman. Amanda Fulk and Rose Schiavone each added 2 scores in the win for the Knights. Alex Vick and Jessica Sullivan each scored 2 goals in the losing effort for the Hawks.

 

Wheeling 14 Vernon Hills 3

Theresa Godlewski tallied 6 goals and Kat Dobrowski netted 4 scores as the Wildcats topped Vernon Hills 14-3. Emily Sowa and Sam Mozdzynski each added 2 scores in the Wheeling victory.

 

Whitney Young 7 Northside 6

Jessie Cronin scored the game-winner with nine seconds left in regulation as Whitney Young squeaked past Northside 7-6 on Wednesday evening. Cronin, Gabby Chelette, and Kennedy Baldwin each scored 2 times in the win, while Nora Murphy's fourth quarter goal helped the Dolphins emerge with the victory. Diana Roback, Jane Patzke, and Meghan Quigley each scored 2 goals and Marti Hale made 7 saves in the loss for the Mustangs.
