Palatine 17 York 13

The Pirates earned a 17-13 nonconference win over York on Wednesday evening. Wally Kleinfeldt scored 7 goals, Omar El Hoffi totaled 6 goals and 5 assists, and Kristian Kalev added 4 scores in the win for the hosts. Charlie Davis also stopped 9 shots in the win. Wil Hubert scored 5 times, Logan Frendreis and Matt Rodriguez each scored 3 goals, and Billy Delaney and Danny Stumpf both scored once in the loss for the Dukes.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Barrington 7 McHenry 5

Marshall Mathias scored 3 times, Chase Lesniak netted 2 goals, and both Mitch Gavars and Pat Hogan put in one goal as the Broncos beat McHenry 7-5 in a sectional quarterfinal preview.

 

Maine South 18 Morton 10

Makai DeNeve-Arnam totaled 5 goals and 4 assists and the trio of Ben Tatlock, Matt Cacciatore, and Phil Wachowski scored 3 times in the Hawks' 18-10 win over Morton.

 

Mundelein 18 Fremd 6

Mike Ward poured in 6 goals, Andrew Gray and Jude Krauss scored 4 times apiece, and Art Kasemets put in 3 goals as the Mustangs dominated Fremd 18-6. Alfonso Ochoa made 7 saves in the win for Mundelein.

 

Neuqua Valley 14 Lincoln-Way East 6

Ian Ivkovich scored 5 goals, Joey Dalesandro had a monster game with 3 goals, 3 assists, and 11 steals, and Simon Shatinsky and Scott DePuy each tallied 2 scores in the Wildcats' 14-6 victory over LWE. John Hedderman blocked 13 shots in the win for Neuqua.

 

Prosser 24 Ogden 8

Michael Ruiz tallied 6 goals and Ivan Delgado put in 5 scores as Prosser downed Ogden 24-8.

 

St Patrick 14 Lane 5

Joseph Gibson notched 6 goals and Conor O'Rourke scored 5 times as St Patrick defeated Lane 14-5 on Wednesday night. Tim Noble blocked 26 shots and Andrew Cizek, Jason Schuler and Mike Taylor each put in one goal in the winning effort. Roberto Millan-Ayala scored goals, Peter Proctor added 2 goals, and Raul Espana blocked 8 shots in the loss for the Indians.

Mundelein 12 Fremd 10

Allie Booth scored 6 times, Karrie Kozokar totaled 4 goals, and both Denise Casali and Emily Garcia put in one goal as Mundelein held off Fremd 12-10. Anna Ward also made 9 saves in the win for the Mustangs. Samantha Barry and Sam DiCanio each registered 3 scores, Megan Younker notched 2 scores, and both Emma Hoffman and Kayla Helsdingen tallied once score in the loss for the Vikings. Emma Jeronimus led the Fremd defense with 10 saves in the losing effort.

Glenbrook South 12 St Viator 7

The Spartans earned their fifth win by heading on the road to beat St Viator 12-7 on Wednesday. Laura Foss scored 5 goals, Bridget Hulsebosch added 2 scores, and Sloan McHugh made 9 saves in the loss for the Lions.

 

Jones-Payton 11 Morton 8 (OT)

Marlee Nork recorded 5 goals to help the Eagles outlast the Mustangs 11-8 in overtime on Wednesday.

 

Maine West 13 Resurrection 5

Holly Wasicak totaled 7 goals, Kristen Burger scored 3 times, and Emily Morrison put in 2 goals as Maine West beat Resurrection 13-5. Danielle Bucior and Lucia Garrett teamed up to make 21 saves in the win for the Warriors.

 

Oak Park 7 Lane 5

Katie Appell scored 4 times and Jordin Hale rejected 11 shots in the Huskies' 7-5 win over visiting Lane. Genevieve Curry, Maura Dahl, and Mia Andreoli each added one score in the win for OPRF.

 

Prosser 11 Ogden 7

Karla Cervantes registered 6 goals and Christina Fernandez notched 3 goals in Prosser's 11-7 win over Ogden.

 

STC North 7 Palatine 6

Katie Quinn scored 4 goals and Nicole Guyett added 3 goals to help lift the North Stars over Palatine 7-6 on Wednesday. Monica Guyett led the defense with 6 steals in the winning effort. Caroline Wojtas netted 3 goals, Rachel Chumbook scored 2 times, Caitlin McHugh tallied one score, and Kim Butler made 9 saves in the loss for the Pirates.

 

Wheeling 16 Barrington 9

Theresa Godlewski notched 10 goals and Emily Sowa netted 3 goals in Wheeling's 16-9 victory over the Fillies. Argelia Diaz also added 2 goals in the win for the Wildcats. Sam Gavars scored 3 times and both Maddi Burrell and Mia Latimer scored 2 goals in the loss for the hosts.

 

York 15 Hoffman 2

Grace Feilen and Izzy Gil each scored multiple goals and Ellie Fitzpatrick added a key goal in York's 15-2 triumph over Hoffman. Claudia Wierman blocked 2 shots, Mary Phelps and Sarina Kao made 2 steals, and Maddie Kleibahn saved 5 shots in the win.
