The Eagles play host to the Chargers in a key SWSC Blue contest on Thursday.

MATCH OF THE DAY

Naperville North 17 Palatine 8

Nolan Roberts totaled 9 goals, Marco Duin scored 3 times, and Brandon Nyland netted 2 scores to help the Huskies earn a 17-8 victory over Palatine. Kristian Kalev, Omar El Hoffi, and Wally Kleinfeldt combined to score all 8 of the Pirates' goals.

 

Brandon Nyland and Nolan Roberts each scored 2 goals and Marco Duin added one score in the opening period, then Roberts scored 3 times and BD Chapman nicked a goal as the Huskies took a 9-4 lead into halftime. Roberts put in 4 goals and Ryan Towers scored once in the third period as North built their lead to 14-6 with one quarter remaining. Duin scored 2 goals and Luke Landiak chipped in with one score in the final period as the Huskies closed out a 17-8 victory over Palatine.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Andrew 9 Lincoln-Way North 5

Dan Cavato scored 6 goals and totaled 4 steals and Matt Muller added 2 scores in the T-Bolts' 9-5 victory over LWN. Eric Tamulonis added one goal and 5 steals and goalie Tim Yara blocked 6 shots and made 5 steals in the win.

 

Juarez 14 Schurz 12

Antolin Saldana poured in 10 goals as Juarez knocked off Schurz 14-12 on Thursday.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 18 Lincoln-Way West 6

Tristan Funk recorded 7 goals and 3 assists and Kyle Forsythe totaled 5 scores and 6 steals to lead the Knights to an 18-6 victory over LWW in a SWSC contest.

 

Lockport 14 Lincoln-Way East 8

Matt Olinski celebrated his birthday with a 6-goal performance as he led the Porters past LWE 14-8.

 

Lyons 12 Waubonsie Valley 5

The Lions geared up for the Stevenson Tournament by earning a 12-5 nonconference win over Waubonsie Valley on Thursday. Nathan Kriha scored 5 goals, George Duffy netted 4 scores, and Jack Linden totaled 15 saves and 3 assists for LT. Thomas Waters also scored 2 times and Nathan Henderson put in one goal in the winning effort. Bradin Krug and Kush Herur each scored 2 goals and Cameron Steele scored once in the loss for the Warriors.

 

Sandburg 11 Stagg 9

Mitch Zieler totaled 6 goals, Ben Crnich netted 2 goals, and Mitch Winkelmann contributed 4 assists as the Eagles held off a late rally by the Chargers to earn an 11-9 victory.

 

Schaumburg 16 Metea Valley 8

Austin Borst registered 5 goals, Tyler Gustafson scored 4 times, and Robert Bach made 8 saves as the Saxons defeated Metea Valley 16-8. James Birriel added 3 goals and Jack Pyde put in 2 scores for the victors.

 

STC North 14 Hoffman 4

John Pretet racked up 5 goals and Nick Traxler added 3 goals and 2 assists as the North Stars defeated Hoffman 14-4. Collin Bawolek also made 13 saves in the win for North.

Naperville Central 11 Fremd 3

Jessica Fox scored 4 goals and Faith Vandercar blocked 8 shots as the Redhawks used a 6-1 run in the third quarter to pull away from the hosts and earn an 11-3 victory on Thursday. Kaela Codo and Kristina Altuve each scored 2 times and the trio of Beth Ryan, Emily Westlove and Michelle Spaits each tallied one score in the win for Central. Samantha Barry and Samantha DiCanio both registered 2 goals and Emma Jeronimus made 16 saves in the loss for the Vikings.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Andrew 11 Lincoln-Way North 6

Genny McCarthy and Megan Hofer both scored 4 goals and Caily Friel added 2 scores as the T-Bolts beat LWN 11-6. Aoife Burke added one score and Anna Tamulonis and Catherine Stouffer blocked 4 shots in the winning effort.

 

Barrington 9 STC East 5

Sam Gavars scored 4 times and Mia Latimer notched 2 scores as the Fillies got past STC East 9-5. Lexy Kos recorded 4 goals in the loss for the Saints.

 

Conant 10 Neuqua Valley 7

The Cougars continued their strong late-season surge with a 10-7 road win over Neuqua Valley. Emily Weingart scored 4 goals, Carmen Rosas put in 3 goals and drew 4 ejections, and Maddy Demaret totaled 11 saves and 4 steals in the victory. Angie Skittone also scored 3 times for the Cougars. Lauren Backe registered 3 scores, Sammi Jaquez netted 2 goals, both Kaitlyn Gorski and Morgan Miller scored once, and Issi French made 13 saves in the losing effort.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 12 Lincoln-Way West 3

Kristi Howe scored 4 goals, Liz Klock totaled 3 goals and 4 steals and both Ally Ramirez and Kim Bernhard tallied 2 goals in the Knights' 12-3 win over LWW. Sabrina Miglorini made 7 saves and Cailey Davern also scored once in the Central win.

 

Lincoln-Way East 15 Lockport 2

Haley McCabe totaled 5 goals and Aimee Schaaf scored 4 times in the Griffins' 15-2 win over Lockport. Zoe Spada chipped in with 3 scores, Lauren VanderVelde scored 2 goals, and Jill Connolly added a key goal in the winning effort.

 

Lyons 9 Waubonsie Valley 6

Allie Kurth and Haley Hughes each scored 3 goals and Julia Cohen tallied 2 scores as Lyons knocked off Waubonsie Valley 9-6. Jessie Wittenberg and Madie Janik combined to block 14 shots and Almasa Duheric also scored once in the Lions' victory.

 

York 6 Hersey 3

Perri Brinkmeier scored the game-winning goal late in the fourth quarter and Maddie Kleibahn blocked 13 shots as York knocked off Hersey 6-3 in Elmhurst. Carly York, Grace Achepohl, Grace Feilen, and Lauren Tamm also scored in the winning effort for the hosts.
