QUARTER 1

7'00	The players are lined up for team introductions as fans are trickling in for the first game. The atmosphere is normally a bit subdued for the early game, but the LT and Fremd fans are already making some noise.
7'00	Fremd sports dark green caps, Lyons is in white, and the teams are ready to go after the National Anthem.
6'21	After winning the swim-off, LT draws an ejection and Katie Doyle picks up a loose ball and scores, giving LT a 1-0 lead.
5'22	Doyle takes a pass at 2m but has her attempt saved by DiCanio, who starts the Fremd counter.
5'00	Lauraitis fires from the right side but Bornhoff knocks it down for her first save of the night.
4'21	French sets up McCarthy with a nice pass on the right post and she delivers a strong shot into the right corner of the net to put the Vikings on the scoreboard.
4:00	Grimes draws a penalty, but DiCanio blocks the penalty shot by Kaptur, rejects the rebound attempt inside 2m by Kosin, then makes her third save on the possession to keep the score tied!
3'21	Fremd draws an ejection on the ensuing possession but cannot connect from outside 5m.
2'22	French draws an ejection, hits the crossbar on her shot attempt and Bornhoff grabs possession for Lyons.
1'44	Megan Kennedy and DiFillipo combine to force a turnover before LT can get a shot attempt.
1'05	LT earns an ejection but cannot score on their possession.
0'44	Jacobs with a steal and assists Doyle on a breakaway goal to put the Lions on top 2-1 late in the opening period.

6'21	Cusack makes a steal on the defensive end, then picks up a loose ball on offense to feed Cusack on a goal from 2m to make it 3-1 Lyons.

	McCarthy makes a steal for the Vikings, but Bornhoff comes out of her net to intercept a breakaway attempt.
4'55	Grimes drives to the right post and takes a feed from Jacobs and finds the back of the net to give Lyons a 4-1 lead.

4'33	D'Andrea lofts a pass to McCarthy on the right side, who finds the net open and cuts the LT lead to 4-2.
4'04	DiCanio breaks free from pressure in her own end and D'Andrea has a chance from the right side but her shot goes wide to the left.
	Lauraitis draws an ejection but Cusack's field block prevents a goal for Fremd.
2'46	Kaptur draws a penalty shot, DiCanio makes another fine save, but Kosin chases down the rebound and scores from point-blank range to make the score 5-2.
2'25	Lauraitis draws a penalty shot and scores to the left corner to cut the lead to 5-3.
2'00	Back-and-forth possessions result in no scoring for either team as we near the halftime break.
0'20	Lyons holds the Fremd offense on their last possession and run out the clock with a 5-3 halftime lead.

7'00	Halftime break
6'27	DiCanio tips Lyons' first shot attempt away from goal, but Bornhoff makes a fine save on the other end on a lob attempt by McCarthy.
5'21	DiCanio prevents Grimes from getting a shot off at 2m
	McCarthy's lob from the left side hits the post and Bornhoff recovers and starts the Lyons counter.
4'44	Jacobs drives to the right post with possession but DiCanio stuffs her shot to keep the score at 5-3.
4'07	DeFillipo connects from outside 7m; her shot bouncing off the crossbar and in, and Fremd is back within a goal.
3'25	DeFillipo with a steal for the Vikings at 2m; Cusack makes a steal on the other end.
2'58	Lyons timeout
2'20	DeFillipo blocks a 5m shot after LT drew an ejection, keeping the Vikings within one goal of a tie.
1'51	Bornhoff comes out of the crease to make a steal.
1'06	After an ejection, Doyle scores after a foul from outside 5m to give Lyons a 6-4 advantage.
0'40	DiCanio comes out of the net to force a turnover.

5'20	...and they get it, Lauraitis scores from near 5m to cut the lead to one!
4'18	DeFillipo makes a steal; Lauraitis nearly ties the game from 5m but a great save by Bornhoff keeps LT ahead!
4'00	Lyons timeout
3'40	French and Grimes trade steals after the timeout.
3'00	Fremd gets a counter opportunity but Lyons closes them down on the other end without a shot attempt.
2'00	Cusack and McCarthy each earn steals; Doyle prevents a Fremd shot attempt and sends the ball back to her goalie as LT clings to a one goal lead.
1'01	DiCanio grabs a loose ball on the LT counter attempt and the Vikings take a timeout trailing by one.
1'01	Fremd will need to break down the Lyons defense if they are to tie the score in the final minute.
0'43	French finds McCarthy open on the left side with a pass from across the pool and she catches and fires quickly into the left corner to dramatically tie the game at 6-6!

2'40	LT wins the swimoff but Fremd holds them on their first possession.
2'13	Lyons forces a turnover and earns an ejection in transition.
1'50	Doyle fights for a loose ball on the right side and quickly fires a shot past DiCanio to give LT a 7-6 lead.
1'20	Bornhoff collects a shot attempt by Lauraitis; Grimes feeds McNichols at 2m but her shot hits the crossbar and bounces to Fremd.
0'28	French shoots over the goal as the shot clock expires and LT still maintains their one goal advantage.
0'01	Bornhoff and DiCanio trade shots from their own end as the clock runs out in the first overtime period. Lyons 7 Fremd 6

2'37	French scores a backhand goal for Fremd to start the period and ties the score at 7-7!
2'02	After an ejection, Jacobs finds the back of the net from the right side and LT is back on top 8-7!
1'31	Fremd drives towards the goal but an offensive foul prevents a scoring chance.
0'38	The Vikings stop LT on the defensive end but a turnover in transition gives the Lions the ball back with just 0:31 left to play.

0'09	Chemello blocks a shot attempt by Lyons and DiCanio grabs possession as the Vikings will have one more chance to tie the game!

Period 3 (Sudden Death)
2'40	Sudden death begins...Fremd wins the swim-off but the LT defense forces a turnover.
2'10	The Vikings' defense forces a shot clock violation and heads down on the counterattack with the game in the balance.
2'01	French takes a pass from DiCanio and draws a quick foul; she finds McCarthy open on the right side of the goal just inside 5m and her SHOT HITS THE RIGHT CORNER OF THE NET AND FREMD WINS IN SUDDEN DEATH OVERTIME!!!
-----	What a dramatic start to the state tournament as Fremd kept fighting and fighting for seven periods, claiming their only lead of the game at the final buzzer.
