Palatine 15 Deer
Park 4
The Pirates earned a 15-4 home victory over Deer Park on Tuesday, moving
into the quarterfinal round to face Stevenson on Thursday afternoon. Nicole
Theis scored 6 goals, Rachel Chumbook totaled 4 goals and 5 steals, and
Caroline Wojtas chipped in with 3 scores in the Pirates' win. Hannah Otis
also blocked 10 shots for the victors. Jessie Gelberg and Sophie Leib both
recorded 2 scores in the losing effort.
Thursday, May 10
Quarterfinals
Stevenson 14 Palatine 9
Erin McCook netted 4 goals and Brittany Gartenberg, Claire Moschovas, and
Cami Haas each recorded 2 goals in Stevenson's 14-9 triumph over Palatine.
Lisa Michalowski also made 10 saves for the Patriots. Nicole Theis totaled 7
scores, Rachel Chumbook notched 2 goals, and Hannah Otis stopped 12 saves in
the loss for the Pirates.
Buffalo Grove 10 Libertyville
8 (OT)
Sarah Fasching registered 4 goals and Callie Fasching made 15 saves as the
Bison outlasted Libertyville 10-8 in overtime on Thursday night. BG
outscored the Wildcats 2-0 in the extra session to advance to the semifinal
round. Bridget White also scored 2 times for the victors. Sam Voelker
notched 4 scores and Devika Joshi tallied 2 scores in the losing effort.
Wheeling 18 Vernon Hills 7
Theresa Godlewski scored 5 times and both Heather Murphy and Leah Malsom
tallied 4 scores to help lift Wheeling past Vernon Hills 18-7. Haydee Tomayo
and Shannon Richards both chipped in with 2 scores and Keara Myatt stopped 7
shots in the Wildcats' victory. Anna Lebiedzinksi notched 4 scores and Dana
Andrea added 2 scores in the losing cause for the Cougars.
Mundelein 12 Lake Forest 3
Allie Boothe posted 4 goals and Amy Klink, Kasia Wienckowski, and Karrie
Kozokar each scored 2 times in Mundelein's 12-3 victory over Lake Forest.
Caroline Tarwid led the Scouts with 2 goals, while goalie Laura Meng denied
10 shots in the loss.
Friday, May 11
Semifinals
Stevenson 13 Buffalo Grove 6
Cami Haas netted 6 goals, Erin McCook registered 5 scores, and Lisa
Michalowski blocked 17 shots in the Patriots' 13-6 triumph over Buffalo
Grove. Julie Pater and Sarah Fasching both put in 2 goals in the loss for
BG.
Wheeling 9 Mundelein 4
Leah Malsom scored 5 goals and Shannon Richards added 2 tallies in
Wheeling's 9-4 win over Mundelein. Keara Myatt also made 13 saves for the
Wildcats, who used a 4-0 run in the second quarter to pull away from the
Mustangs. Alyssa Garcia notched 2 scores in the loss for Mundelein.
Saturday, May 12
Finals

Wheeling 4
Erin McCook totaled 6 goals and Lisa Michalowski made 15 saves in
Stevenson's 10-4 win over Wheeling.
Alex Kanaris, Brittany Gartenberg, Cami Haas, and Tori St. John all scored
once in win for the Patriots. Leah Malsom scored 2 times and Keara Myatt
made 7 saves in the loss for the Wildcats.
