2019 SECTIONALS
More than 150 boys and girls teams will begin their quest for a chance to advance to the state tournament, starting with the sectional play-in games on May 6 & 7.

 

The girls' quarterfinal action starts on May 8, followed by the boys' quarterfinal games on May 9. The sectional semifinals are played on May 10, with the sectional final games all taking place on Saturday, May 11.

Links to every sectional site are provided below. These will be updated continuously with schedules, game times, and scores/recaps throughout the week of sectionals. At the end of the week, we will have Sectional Ballers and the All-Sectional Teams (as soon as they are submitted to us from each sectional site).

7

Play-In Games

(6) Warren 12 (11) Wheeling 5

Jarrett Lobitz recorded 5 goals and Jeremy Gunter scored 4 times as the Blue Devils beat Wheeling 12-5.

 

(7) Lake Forest 10 (10) Deerfield 7

 

(8) Highland Park 14 (9) Vernon Hills 7

 

Thursday, May 9

Quarterfinals

(1) Stevenson 18 (8) Highland Park 2

Dima Kobets scored 5 times and both Jeffrey Mao and Sammy Maya scored 3 goals as the Patriots got past Highland Park 18-2.

 

(5) McHenry 9 (4) Libertyville 8 (3 OT)

Triple overtime!!! Riley Hedberg scored 7 goals in the 9-8 extra time win for the Warriors.

 

(2) Mundelein 22 (7) Lake Forest 2

Matt Allore scored 4 goals as the Mustangs topped Lake Forest 22-2 on Thursday evening.

 

(3) Buffalo Grove 13 (6) Warren 4

Andy Gontko totaled 7 scores as the Bison beat Warren 13-4. Jeremy Gunter scored 2 times in the loss for the Blue Devils.

 

Friday, May 10

Semifinals

(1) Stevenson 18 (5) McHenry 8

Dima Kobets and Sammy Maya each registered 5 scores and Drew Wangard scored 3 times in the Patriots' 18-3 win over Highland Park.

 

(2) Mundelein 12 (3) Buffalo Grove 5

Danny Oleinik recorded 6 goals and both Jake Garcia and Ryan Zentz scored 2 times as Mundelein knocked off BG 12-5 on Friday night.

Finals

(1) Stevenson 12 (2) Mundelein 8

Dima Kobets recorded 5 goals to help lead the Patriots past Mundelein 12-8 and into next weekend's state tournament. Matt Allore scored 4 goals in the loss for the Mustangs.
