2019 SECTIONALS
More than 150 boys and girls teams will begin their quest for a chance to advance to the state tournament, starting with the sectional play-in games on May 6 & 7.

The girls' quarterfinal action starts on May 8, followed by the boys' quarterfinal games on May 9. The sectional semifinals are played on May 10, with the sectional final games all taking place on Saturday, May 11.

Links to every sectional site are provided below. These will be updated continuously with schedules, game times, and scores/recaps throughout the week of sectionals. At the end of the week, we will have Sectional Ballers and the All-Sectional Teams (as soon as they are submitted to us from each sectional site).

Wednesday, May 8

Quarterfinals

(1) Stevenson 17 (8) Warren 2
Kalista Tapas registered 4 scores, Anna Gates and Elizabeth Matlin each scored 3 times and Elizabeth White put in 2 scores as the Patriots defeated Warren 17-2. Anna Erpenbach and Jessica Oehlerking both scored once in the loss for the Blue Devils.

(5) Libertyville 10 (4) Lake Forest 6

Anna Heard scored 5 times and Cate McCarty recorded 4 scores in the Wildcats' 10-6 win over Lake Forest. Katie DeAcetis stopped 17 shots in the win for LHS.

(2) Buffalo Grove 18 (7) Deerfield 2

Stephanie Surdyka poured in 6 goals as the Bison topped Deerfield 18-2 on Wednesday.

(3) Mundelein 13 (6) Wheeling 6

Anna Kordick totaled 4 scores in the Mustangs' 13-6 victory over Wheeling.

Friday, May 9

Semifinals

(1) Stevenson 18 (5) Libertyville 3

Lauren Maloney scored 4 goals and both Eleanor Michaud and Kalista Tapas scored 3 times to help the Patriots beat Libertyville 18-3. Cate McCarty scored 2 goals in the loss for the Wildcats.

(3) Mundelein 7 (2) Buffalo Grove 6

Hannah Stanley made a key save in the final minute that lead to Ella Krauss' game-winning goal as the Mustangs outlasted BG 7-6 to advance to the sectional final round.

Saturday, May 10

Finals

(1) Stevenson vs (3) Mundelein

Lauren Maloney poured in 6 goals while Kalista Tapas and Shreya Sreedar both scored 4 times to help lead the Patriots past Mundelein 19-4 as Stevenson advanced to State. Anna Mossakowski and Maggie Bauwens also combined to make 11 saves in the win. Adry Kasemets scored twice and Hannah Stanley made 7 saves in the losing effort.
