2019 SECTIONALS
More than 150 boys and girls teams will begin their quest for a chance to advance to the state tournament, starting with the sectional play-in games on May 6 & 7.

The girls' quarterfinal action starts on May 8, followed by the boys' quarterfinal games on May 9. The sectional semifinals are played on May 10, with the sectional final games all taking place on Saturday, May 11.

Links to every sectional site are provided below. These will be updated continuously with schedules, game times, and scores/recaps throughout the week of sectionals. At the end of the week, we will have Sectional Ballers and the All-Sectional Teams (as soon as they are submitted to us from each sectional site).

Thursday, May 9

Quarterfinals

(1) Loyola 13 (8) Maine East 6

Kevin Considine totaled 4 goals in the Ramblers 13-6 win over Maine East. Marcin Nieradka recorded 4 goals in the loss for the Blue Demons.

(4) Evanston 9 (5) Maine South 7

Ben Coleman scored 3 goals as the Wildkits got past Maine South 9-7. Jovan Barac put in 4 scores in the losing effort for the Hawks.

(2) GBS 19 (7) Maine West 8

Steven Dales recorded 5 goals while Aiden Clippenger made 11 saves in the Titans' 19-8 win over Maine West.

(3) New Trier 15 (6) GBN 5

Matt Ghiselle recorded 4 goals to help lift the Trevians over GBN 15-5. Mihalo Milutinovic scored twice in the loss for the Spartans.

Friday, May 10

Semifinals

(4) Evanston 8 (1) Loyola 7 (OT)

The Wildkits advanced to the sectional finals with an 8-7 overtime win over Loyola. Kenny Sajnaj tallied 4 scores and Jake Carr stopped 9 shots in the loss for the Ramblers.

(3) New Trier 9 (2) GBS 6

Matt Ghiselli scored 4 goals and Bo Barrett added 2 scores as the Trevians beat GBS 9-6. Eli Cohen, Diego Mendoza and Youngwon Kim each added one score for the winners. David Rugen tallied 4 scores and Aiden Clippenger made 11 saves in the loss for the Titans.

Finals

(3) New Trier 7 (4) Evanston 3

Matt Ghiselli recorded 4 goals and the trio of Bo Barrett, Eli Cohen and Will Clark each scored once as the Trevians qualified for State with a 7-3 win over Evanston.
