2019 SECTIONALS
More than 150 boys and girls teams will begin their quest for a chance to advance to the state tournament, starting with the sectional play-in games on May 6 & 7.

The girls' quarterfinal action starts on May 8, followed by the boys' quarterfinal games on May 9. The sectional semifinals are played on May 10, with the sectional final games all taking place on Saturday, May 11.

Links to every sectional site are provided below. These will be updated continuously with schedules, game times, and scores/recaps throughout the week of sectionals. At the end of the week, we will have Sectional Ballers and the All-Sectional Teams (as soon as they are submitted to us from each sectional site).

Thursday, May 9

Quarterfinals

(1) Naperville Central 15 (9) Hinsdale Central 2

Luke Klein-Collins recorded 4 goals, Brad Sanford scored 3 times and Matt Simon put in 2 scores to help the Redhawks beat Hinsdale Central 15-2. Cade Griffith and Rhys Tallentire both scored once in the loss for the Red Devils.

(4) Metea Valley 10 (5) STC North 6

Colin Szczesny scored 3 goals and Jimmy Cronin (19 saves) earned a second half shutout to help the Mustangs earn a 10-6 comeback win over STC North. Alex Lafferty and Tyler Flanders both added 2 goals for the victors. Siba Filipovic scored 3 goals in the losing effort.

(2) Neuqua Valley 15 (7) Waubonsie Valley 5

Matthew Townsend registered 6 scores while Pierce Salfatinos put in 4 goals in the Wildcats 15-5 win over Waubonsie Valley. Ryan Ruhde scored 2 times in the loss for the Warriors.

(3) Naperville North 10 (6) Sandburg 6

Riley Thompson scored 3 goals and the trio of Jack Wallace, Owen Jacobs and Chase McClure each scored twice in the Huskies' 10-5 win over Sandburg. Mike Rzeszowicz scored 4 times in the loss for the Eagles.

Friday, May 10

Semifinals

(1) Naperville Central 12 (4) Metea Valley 3

Brady Erdman, Colin Szczesny and Tyler Flanders each scored once in the loss for the Mustangs.

(2) Neuqua Valley 16 (3) Naperville North 14

Matthew Townsend poured in 6 goals, Pierce Salfatinos scored 5 goals and both Ryan Cercello and Micheal Leshock scored twice in the Wildcats' 16-14 win over Naperville North.

Saturday, May 11

Finals

(1) Naperville Central 10 (2) Neuqua Valley 8

Cam Dougherty registered 3 scores and both Bender Russo and Brad Sanford scored twice to help the Redhawks get past Neuqua Valley 10-8. Matthew Townsend scored 4 times and Jack Hiss netted 2 scores in the loss for the Wildcats.
