Fenwick Sectional Preview
With Fenwick as the odds-on favorite to repeat as state champions in 2005, it will be a tall order for any other team to emerge from the Fenwick sectional as an upset winner. Led by Farren Rixter on the offensive end, the Friars have weapons all over the pool that can turn any game into a blowout at anytime. Keely Baldwin, Alison Pavlik, and Danielle Buglio are three of the top players in the state, and Christina Romano, Erin Leary and Laurel McCarthy fill out a strong starting lineup.

.

Lyons and Oak Park have split their two meetings this year, with the Huskies winning the most recent meeting at the WSC Tournament by one goal last weekend. The key for Oak Park is to shut down both Laura Ansilio and Sarah Trilla, while the Lions will look to do the same to the duo of Lauren Daggett and Val Poulos.

.

York's Emily Hatz will look to lead her squad to the second round to face Fenwick, while Kari Monaghan has had a stellar year in leading Rolling Meadows to a strong season. That 4-5 matchup could be one of the best of the first round games in Illinois on Wednesday night.
