Sectional Champ

MUNDELEIN-

Vernon Hills Sectional Preview
Mundelein is eyeing a trip to the state meet, but they will have to get past their nemesis Stevenson if they hope to get there. While the Mustangs have posted a 3-0 record this season against Stevenson, the Patriots know what it takes to win a sectional and perform well at state.

.

Led by Greg Peck and Andrew Peterson, Mundelein is poised to record their fourth win of the year against Stevenson if the two eventually meet. Sean Larsen and Mark Selle have helped the Mustangs improve all season long, while the goalie play of Tyler Rayomme has allowed Peterson to see more action in the field.

.

For Stevenson, Alan Lagunov and Kevin Alland are a great combo, while Mike Hall provides the Patriots with a boost of speed. The Patriots went 4-1 last week and hope to use that momentum to get back to the state tournament.

.

The major darkhorse at this sectional is Libertyville. After steadily improving all season, head coach Jeff Arce has his troops ready to provide a strong challenge to McHenry in the opening round. Ben Leboza, Tom Bilstein, and freshman Danny Lejeune help lead the Wildcats.
