Neuqua Valley Sectional Preview
Naperville Central is the favorite at the Neuqua Valley Sectional after posting a 7-0 record against the opposition in their bracket. Led by goalie Brittany Walk and sophomore Nikki Nelson, the Redhawks are looking for their first state tournament appearance under head coach Jeff Plackett. Denise Oldenburg, Liz Young, Jenna Jefferds, and Kara Wilson all help fill the starting lineup for Naperville Central.

.

Standing in their way is Neuqua Valley, who lost to the Redhawks 5-4 in their last meeting. Great team speed and depth helps the Wildcats, who earned a bye in the first round after getting the two-seed at the sectional. Goalie Kayley Provow can help keep the Wildcats in most games, while the tandem of Meghan and Kathleen Patterson and players like Amanda Walde and Elise Engelhard could lead Neuqua Valley to a state berth.

.

To get to the sectional final, the Wildcats will have to get past a surging Waubonsie Valley team, who are coming off a comeback win over Latin in the last week of the regular season. Led by Lisa Rudolph and Lori Roskens, the Warriors have the talent to get past Neuqua if they can knock off Hinsdale South in the opening round on Wednesday night.

.

Both Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South are potential sleeper teams who could cause problems for their first round opponents.
