5:00pm #5 Lockport at #20 Neuqua Valley

The Porters look to keep their foot on the accelerator when they head to Neuqua for a nonconference tilt just 24 hours after their big SWSC victory over Sandburg. Meanwhile, the Wildcats hope to pull off the minor upset as they gear up for a late-season push.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON

5:00pm #17 Lincoln-Way North at #37 Bradley

The Phoenix are technically one win away from claiming the SWSC Red division, but they'll need to go on the road to beat a tough Bradley team in order to finalize things on Tuesday night.

TOURNAMENT TO WATCH

MSL PLAYOFF CROSSOVERS

The Mid-Suburban League features three more crossover games on Tuesday night after both Elk Grove and Hoffman were victorious on Monday. Fremd takes on a Prospect in a battle of second-place finishers, Palatine faces BG in a third-place fixture, and Barrington and Meadows go at it in a matchup of sixth-place teams.

The Lions got things headed in the right direction with a win over Naperville North last week, but they'll need to be at their best when they play host to St Ignatius on Tuesday in LaGrange.

5:00pm #18 Bradley at #14 Lincoln-Way North

Things have gotten interesting in the SWSC Red division, as just one game separates Bradley and LWN as they meet tomorrow in Frankfort. Who will gain the upper-hand in this Tuesday night battle?

MSL PLAYOFF CROSSOVERS

The Mid-Suburban League features five crossover games that provide the buildup to Wednesday's title game between Barrington and Hersey. Wheeling takes on Fremd in a battle of second-place finishers, Palatine faces Prospect in a third-place matchup, Conant duels with BG after both teams finished fourth, Elk Grove travels to Schaumburg after both teams finished in fifth, and Meadows and Hoffman square off after both teams finished winless in their respective divisions.

Lockport 16 Neuqua Valley 2

Dan Oldendorf recorded 6 goals, Jake Elias scored 4 times, and John Goetz blocked 16 shots as Lockport beat Neuqua Valley 16-2. David Presz and Jake Speechley both tallied 3 scores in the winning effort. Alex Thoele recorded both goals in the Wildcats' loss.

 

MSL CROSSOVERS

Barrington 17 Meadows 7

Chase Lesniak totaled 6 goals, David Kline netted 3 scores, and Brandon Baranowski registered 2 scores in Barrington's 17-7 win over Meadows.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Homewood-Flossmoor 17 Lincoln-Way East 4

Mason Reidel scored 6 times and Mike Mitchell put in 3 goals as the Vikings ran away with a 17-4 victory over LWE. Jakobi McClellan also stopped 14 shots in the win for H-F. Al Newell led the Griffins' offense with 2 scores.

 

Naperville Central 11 STC North 7

The Redhawks outscored the North Stars 8-4 in the second half en route to an 11-7 win on Tuesday night. Kyle Gannon and Nick Traxler both tallied 2 scores in the loss for the hosts.

 

New Trier 12 Maine West 1

Joey Ryan scored 3 goals to help lead the Trevians to a 12-1 win over Maine West; New Trier clinched a perfect record in the Central Suburban League's regular season with the victory.

St Ignatius 11 Lyons 6

Becky Insalaco recorded 6 goals and Rebecca Martinez added 2 scores as the Wolfpack went on the road to beat Lyons 11-6. Molly McDonnell tallied 2 scores in the loss for the Lions.

 

MSL CROSSOVERS

Conant 9 Buffalo Grove 5

Angie Skittone scored 4 goals and Carmen Rosas added 3 scores in Conant's 9-5 win over BG. Maddy Demaret blocked 13 shots in the Cougars' victory. Sarah Morosan led the Bison with 3 goals in the loss.

 

Elk Grove 9 Schaumburg 7

The Grenadiers improved to 14-10 on the season by fending off Schaumburg 9-7 in a contest between fifth-place teams in the MSL. Ashley Johnson, Britney Vasquez, and Krystal Vezzetti each scored 2 goals and Jessica Sumsky made 13 saves and added a goal in the loss for the Saxons.

 

Fremd 6 Wheeling 5

The Vikings edged Wheeling 6-5 in a battle of second-place finishers in the MSL on Tuesday. Theresa Godlewski scored 4 times and Keara Myatt made 18 saves in the loss for the Wildcats.

 

Prospect vs Palatine

Due to a power outage, the Prospect-Palatine contest has been tentatively postponed until Thursday.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Homewood-Flossmoor 8 Lincoln-Way East 6

Maddy Morris notched 3 scores, Lauren Roby put in 2 goals, and the trio of Amber Barney, Annie Schloen, and Kelly Morrissey each scored once in the Vikings' 8-6 triumph over LWE.

 

Lincoln-Way North 13 Bradley 2

Cheyenne DeGraff and Sam Klosak each scored 4 times as the Phoenix upended Bradley 13-2. Amber Forbes stopped 9 shots and both Drew L'Ecuyer and Rachel Thorson scored once in the Boilers' loss.

 

Naperville North 10 Hinsdale South 1

Jillian Eiken put in 6 goals to lead the Huskies to a 10-1 victory over Hinsdale South in a nonconference contest.

 

Oak Park 14 Morton 7

Katie Appell recorded 7 goals and both Hannah Legatzke and Samantha Robbins each put in 2 goals as Oak Park beat Morton 14-7. Jordin Hale and Zoe Erickson combined to stop 16 shots for the Huskies.

 

Sandburg 9 Neuqua Valley 2

Cara Hays registered 3 goals, both Maggie Foley and Sarah Dolitsky put in 2 goals, and Alona King made 12 saves in the Eagles' 9-2 nonconference win over Neuqua Valley.
