Q1: Brigid Barkmeier opened the
scoring for McAuley early in the contest.
Kalista Tapas and Lauren
Maloney have scored two goals each as Stevenson leads McAuley 4-1
late in Q1.
Q2: The Patriots extend
their lead to 6-1 early in Q2 as Tapas adds her third goal of the
contest. She scores again on Stevenson's next trip down to make the
score 7-1. Chloe Ryan ends the Patriots' 7-0 run, assisted by Maddie
Schultz, to cut the lead to 7-2 midway through the period. The
Patriots added two more goals before the break, concluding with
Eleanor Michaud's breakaway goal with two seconds left until
halftime.
Q3: Hannah Engquist scored two
goals early in the period for the Mighty Macs, but the Patriots have
extended their lead to 12-5 late in the period.
Q4: Gladys Contreras starts the
scoring for the Mighty Macs, trimming the Stevenson lead to 12-6.
Tapas added a late goal to increase the lead to 13-6. Kate Fischer
netted another goal for the Mighty Macs in the final minute.
Stevenson advances to the state title game with a 13-7 victory over
Mother McAuley!
SEMIFINAL #2
Naperville North 11 New Trier 6
Q1: Amelia Zientara opened the
scoring for the Trevians, but Taylor Wessel scored twice and Anna
Tarantino added a goal in the first period to give the Huskies a 3-1
lead.
Q2: The Huskies scored an early
goal, but Taylor Jones responded for New Trier to slice the lead to
4-2. Wessel and Tarantino each added goals later in the period to
extend the Huskies' lead to 6-2.
Q3: The Huskies have tacked on
three straight goals in the third period to increase their lead to
9-2. Jones added her second goal of the contest to trim the lead to
9-3. Jackie Andrews also added a goal for the Trevians in the final
minute, but Sarah Crossett responded with a quick goal on the other
end as the teams head to the final period with North leading 10-4.
Q4: Leah Caywood strikes first
for the Trevians midway through the fourth quarter to make the score
10-5. The teams traded goals down the stretch before Naperville
North sealed an 11-6 win and a spot in the state title game.
