Glenbrook North Sectional Preview - GIRLS
How strong is a sectional when 20-4 Prospect/Wheeling is a #4 seed? Such is the case at GBN, where Loyola, New Trier, St Viator, and P/W garnered the top four seeds at what could be the most entertaining sectional in Illinois. Try figuring out the teams, as Viator beat Loyola early in the season, New Trier beat Viator, and Loyola then beat New Trier to complete the circle of confusion. Add to that the Trevians narrow 5-4 win over P/W, and you have a highly competitive sectional. (Just imagine if Evanston were invited to the party like in recent years?)

With the #1 seed, Loyola will take on Maine East in the opening round, followed by a rematch between #4 P/W and #5 Hersey (P/W won convincingly by a 6-1 score). #2 New Trier does battle with #7 GBN, with the winner to take on either #3 St Viator or #6 GBS.

Keys

- Shaw: Has the ability offensively to take over and lead Ramblers to state

- Bartter, Hamm, Twigg: Balance and depth make the Trevians dangerous

- Ostling: Plays everywhere in the pool and is the key to the Lions' chances

- Blatter/Dix: WildKnights' tandem have the talent to beat nearly anyone

- O'Toole, Fischl : Top players look to lead their teams to upset wins in first round
