LINCOLN-WAY EAST

Lincoln-Way Sectional Preview - BOYS
#1 seed Lincoln-Way East enters the LWC Sectional as the heavy favorite, having already beaten each of the teams in their bracket. Add to that the experience of their trip to state last season, and it will be a tall order for the rest of the teams in the LWC Sectional to pull the upset. That doesn't mean they won't be up for the challenge, as rival Lincoln-Way Central earned the #2 seed and will be hoping that the third time's the charm if they face the Griffins once again. To do that, the Knights may have to contend with a solid Lockport team, who received the #3 seed and a tough matchup with #6 seed Bradley. LWE's first opponent will be one of two teams, either #4 Andrew or #5 H-F. Homewood-Flossmoor has been on fire as of late, but Andrew has had a solid season and would like a chance to take on Lincoln-Way East in the semifinals.

KEYS

- Ament/King/Golden: Griffins' trio holds the key to a repeat trip to state

- Toepke: LWC's goalie has the ability to keep the Knights close in every game

- Arif, Steinberger, Feller, etc: Well-balanced lineup makes Andrew tough to stop

- Nelson, Scheffke, Kuchta: Talented Vikings' trio gives H-F upset potential

- Cavanaugh: Will need to carry the offensive load if Lockport is to advance
