York Sectional Preview - BOYS
Any sectional with the #1 and #2
teams in state is bound for a great finish, though everyone would obviously
like to see both teams playing at state instead of in a sectional final.
Regardless, #1 seed Fenwick starts things off against #8 seed Foreman in
their quest to defend their state championship, while #2 seed St Patrick
opens up with #7 seed Morton. If Fenwick wins, they face the winner of
the matchup between #4 seed York and #5 seed Riverside-Brookfield.
Meanwhile, #3 seed Oak Park will look to spoil the party for the top teams,
as they face fellow West Suburban Conference member and #6 seed Elk Grove in
the opening round.
KEYS
- Parolin/Baldwin/Barrett: Dangerous trio is hard to stop for any team
- Jones: Dominant goalie can make life difficult for the best offensive players
- Przekota/Ridgeway: Tandem has
the firepower to contend with the Friars
- Nickels: Will try to lead the Huskies to a potential upset if they meet
with Pats
- Kinney/Krolikiewicz: Dukes will try to contain the Friars if they can get past R-B
