BOYS

Brother Rice 17 St Rita 10

Mike Mulcrone recorded 7 goals to lead Brother Rice to a 17-10 victory over St Rita. Nick Joslyn also scored 4 times in the win for the undefeated Crusaders (3-0). Mike Hernandez scored 3 times in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

DeLaSalle 15 Mt Carmel 6

Daniel Pedro scored 4 goals to give DeLaSalle their first win of the season, a 15-6 victory over Mt Carmel in Catholic League play.

 

Loyola 19 St Viator 8

Brendan Hulseman and Charlie Dowdle each recorded 4 goals as Loyola earned their third straight victory this week after earning a  19-8 decision over St Viator in MCAC action on Wednesday. Will LeCompte added 3 goals and 4 assists while Robbie O'Connor blocked 20 shots in the win for the Ramblers.

 

Neuqua Valley 23 Hinsdale Central 10

David Lesniak recorded 7 goals and AJ Quebbeman and Kevin Patterson each added 4 scores in Neuqua's 23-10 victory over Hinsdale Central. Nick Korompilas and Strati Koulouris each scored 3 times in the loss for the Red Devils.

 

Palatine 15 Stevenson 2

Kamil Mulawa totaled 6 goals and 5 steals and Dylan Weissman added 4 scores as Palatine knocked off Stevenson 15-2. Christian Kalfas and John Giuliano each added 2 goals apiece for the Pirates, while goalie Dan Sommerfield made 7 saves in the win. The Pirates led 5-0 at halftime and 10-0 entering the final period of play before relinquishing two goals in the last quarter.

 

St Ignatius 10 St Patrick 9

Mark Alvarado scored 3 goals and both Jaime Juarez and Kevin Barth added 2 goals apiece in the Wolfpack's 10-9 victory over St Patrick in a Catholic League contest.

 

Stagg 13 Naperville North 10

Juan Valdez and Zach Golob both scored 4 goals and Valdez and Drew Stoffel combined for 14 steals as Stagg defeated Naperville North 13-10 on Wednesday night.


GIRLS

Fenwick 10 Mother McAuley 8

Annie Collins and Gena Wendt both tallied 3 goals as Fenwick edged Mother McAuley 10-8 on Wednesday night.

 

Loyola 6 St Viator 2

Evan Swenson and Sarah Gross both scored 2 goals and Kristina Alexander allowed only 2 goals as Loyola earned a hard-fought 6-2 win over St Viator.

 

Marian 15 R-B 7

Sophie Sesto registered 6 goals, Carlee Wieser totaled 4 goals and 7 steals, and Paige Wieser added 2 goals as Marian defeated R-B by a 15-7 score.

 

Meadows 10 Elk Grove 8

Emily Lebuhn scored 5 times and both Andrea Golden and Jessica Dykstra scored 2 goals as Meadows beat Elk Grove 10-8.

 

Mundelein 14 Wheeling 1

Ten players notched goals and Emily Tylka stopped 16 shots as Mundelein cruised to a 14-1 victory over Wheeling. Alexis Jones led the Mustangs with 3 goals, while Hannah Kalish and Karrie Kozokar scored 2 goals apiece in the win.

 

Naperville Central 13 New Trier 4

Abbey Kerth scored 5 goals and Emily Sejna added 4 scores as Naperville Central traveled to Winnetka to beat New Trier 13-4 on Wednesday. Claire Wirtz added 2 scores and both Lauren Gunn and Madison Nervig each added scored once in the win.

 

Naperville North 13 Stagg 3

Megan Nerud and Taylor Bridgman both registered 3 goals and Audrey Chien and Jessie Lietz each added 2 scores in Naperville North's 13-3 triumph over Stagg. Liz Hadhazy scored 3 times in the loss for the Chargers.

 

Neuqua Valley 8 Hinsdale Central 5

Rachel Lehman scored 4 times and Emma Bollinger added 3 goals as Neuqua Valley topped Hinsdale Central 8-5 on Wednesday night. Tara Blanzy also contributed 4 steals in the win for the Wildcats.

 

Northside 8 Morton 2

Sarah Bodenstein recorded 3 goals and Meghan Quigley added 2 scores in Northside's 8-2 win over Morton on Wednesday. Cecile Franke stopped 12 shots in the win for the Mustangs.

 

Richards 9 Andrew 8

Lisa Gorski scored 6 goals and Sammi Craig added 2 more as Richards outlasted Andrew 9-8 in nonconference action. Lauren Gorski stopped 11 shots in the victory for the Bulldogs. Megan Hoffer tallied 4 goals in the loss for the T-Bolts.

 

St Ignatius 11 Resurrection 6

Kate Stelnicki recorded 3 goals and Kate Murphy stopped 7 shots as the Wolfpack topped Resurrection 11-6. Maddie Nelson tallied 3 scores in the loss for the Bandits.

 

Vernon Hills 10 Maine East 1

Anna Lebiedzinski and Dana Andrea each put in 3 goals, Kristen Schrems added 2 scores, and goalie Gena Lopez made 14 saves as Vernon Hills beat Maine East 10-1. Andrea also totaled 5 assists and 5 steals in the Cougars' win.

MATCH OF THE DAY

#9 Palatine at #16 Stevenson (6:00pm) - Palatine's impressive start will be put to the test when they take on the Patriots, who are looking to bounce back after Tuesday night's loss to Loyola.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

#20 Naperville North at #17 Stagg (5:00pm) - The Chargers will be seeking their seventh win of the season against an experienced Naperville North team (3-1) in Palos Hills on Wednesday.


GIRLS

MATCH OF THE DAY

#10 McAuley at #6 Fenwick (5:30pm) - The two Catholic League rivals square off for the first time this season; the Friars are looking for their second win of the season, while the Macs will try to regroup after a loss to St Ignatius on Monday.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

#3 Naperville Central at #12 New Trier (5:30pm) - The Trevians will look to shut down the Redhawks' offense in a nonconference battle in Winnetka.
