WEDNESDAY'S GAME PREVIEWS

BOYS

MATCH OF THE DAY

#8 St Ignatius at #5 Fenwick

The Wolfpack will look to bounce back after a Catholic League loss earlier this week to #11 Loyola, while Fenwick has been steadily improving all season and will look to make a push in the second half of the season beginning tomorrow night against #8 Ignatius.

KEEP AN EYE ON:

#3 Brother Rice at #22 St Patrick - The two Catholic League rivals meet in a rematch of last weekend's final game of the St Patrick Tournament; the Crusaders won that meeting 15-5 and will look to stay perfect this season with a win against the Shamrocks.

#4 Lyons at #19 Sandburg - The Lions earned a solid win over #10 Homewood-Flossmoor on Monday night, so they'll be looking to keep their momentum going against #19 Sandburg when they travel to Orland Park on Wednesday. The Eagles, on the other hand, fell to Lincoln-Way East on Tuesday 12-3, so they'll need a strong effort if they hope to knock off LT.

GIRLS

MATCH OF THE DAY

#2 St Ignatius at #4 Fenwick

The games don't get much bigger than this one during the regular season, as two of the top teams in the Catholic League face off in Oak Park on Wednesday night in a rematch of Saturday's game at the Fenwick Tournament (Ignatius won 9-5; their first-ever win over the Friars in team history). Can the Wolfpack make it two in a row over Fenwick, or will Jack Wagner's squad have an answer for Celeste Almarez, Kate Stelnicki, and company tomorrow night at 6:30pm.

KEEP AN EYE ON:

#11 Bremen at #14 Latin - Bremen (16-2) faces a huge test when they travel to Chicago to take on Ashley Henderson, Brittany Wallace and the tough defense of the Latin Romans on Wednesday evening.

#18 Sandburg at #1 Lyons - The Lions continue to pass test after test en route to a 15-0 record thus far this season; they beat #8 Homewood-Flossmoor on Monday and now face #18 Sandburg at home on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, the Eagles are perfect in the SouthWest Suburban Conference this season and a win on the road against LT would be a huge momentum boost to their season.
