BOYS

Buffalo Grove 14 Prospect 6

Ian Rodriguez scored 9 goals to lead Buffalo Grove to a 14-6 victory over Prospect. Will Schiavone tallied all 6 goals in the loss for the Knights.

 

Curie 14 Northside 2

Ramiro Almarez scored 9 times and Sam Lopez added 3 goals as Curie beat Northside 14-2. Cyrus Deloye scored both goals in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Fenwick 12 Mt Carmel 4

Dan Newell scored 9 goals as Fenwick took a 9-1 lead into the break and went on to beat Mt Carmel 12-4 on Monday.

 

Hersey 16 Elk Grove 5

Stephen Petro recorded a school-record 9 goals as Hersey defeated Elk Grove 16-5.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 15 Lincoln-Way West 7

Jacob Bernard scored 4 goals and Matt Duda, Petar Jackovich, and Pete Smith each scored 3 times as LWC defeated LWW 15-9.

 

Loyola 17 DeLaSalle 3

John Groden recorded 3 goals and Matt Considine added 2 scores as Loyola earned a 17-3 conference win over DeLaSalle.

 

McHenry 13 York 4

Scott Dabrowski totaled 5 goals and Drew Schmitt, Kyle Braun, Lucas Matthys, and Tim Briscoe each scored 2 times as McHenry downed York 13-4.

 

Morgan Park 14 Chicago Ag 3

Richard Leigh tallied 6 goals to lead Morgan Park to a 14-3 win over Chicago Agricultural School on Monday evening.

 

Sandburg 12 Stagg 9

Matt Veldman scored 4 goals to help lift Sandburg to a 12-9 victory over Stagg on Monday. Zach Golob recorded 3 scores in the loss for the Chargers.

 

St Viator 12 Maine East 8

Gregg O'Connor registered 5 goals and Peter Cleary added 3 scores in St Viator's 12-8 win over Maine East.

 

Bremen Tournament

Bradley and Von Steuben Set For Title Game Rematch

The Bremen Tournament kicked off on a rare Monday evening, as Bradley and Von Steuben both won twice to advance to Saturday's title game at 3:30pm. The Boilers beat the hosts and Argo, while Von knocked off R-B and Richards to advance. Bradley beat Von Steuben 12-7 in last year's tournament final.

 

Bremen beat Argo to advance to the third place game, where they will meet Richards, who defeated R-B on Monday night. Argo and R-B will kick things off on Saturday at 1:00pm in the fifth place game after both teams lost twice on Monday.


GIRLS

Andrew 9 Lockport 7

Leah McCarthy recorded 3 goals and Kelly Baumgartner added 2 scores as Andrew beat Lockport 9-7. Jordan Bartolini and Marge Joyce combined to make 10 saves in the win for the T-Bolts. Alyssa Black scored 3 times and Megan Cavanaugh added 2 scores in the loss for the Porters.

 

Conant 9 Hinsdale Central 8

Gina Iaffaldano and Kristi Burke both tallied 3 scores and Katie Varga added 2 goals in Conant's narrow 9-8 victory over Hinsdale Central. Colleen Moran scored 4 times in the loss for the Red Devils.

 

Curie 10 Northside 8

Janet Santos scored 3 goals and Dafne Hernandez, Jenny Villaneuva, and Nancy Patron each added 2 scores as Curie held off Northside 10-8. Meghan Quigley tallied 3 scores and Cecile Franke stopped 10 shots in the loss for NSP.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 18 Lincoln-Way West 11

Danijela Jackovich totaled 5 goals and 5 assists and Kaitlyn Thompson added 4 scores as LWC avenged a weekend loss to LWW with an 18-11 victory on Monday night. Jamie Graf also scored 3 times in the win for the Knights. Lauren Majewski scored 7 times and Michelle Fairbairn added 2 goals in the losing effort for the Warriors.

 

St Viator 16 Maine East 3

Melanie Battaglia scored 6 goals and Alli Lardner totaled 3 scores as St Viator knocked off Maine East 16-3 in nonconference play.

BOYS

MATCH OF THE DAY

Sandburg at Stagg (5:00pm) - Two of the top teams in the SWSC come together for their first meeting of the 2011 season.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

McHenry at York (5:00pm) - The Warriors (9-4) travel to Elmhurst to take on the struggling Dukes (1-12) on Monday night.


GIRLS

MATCH OF THE DAY

LWW at LWC (5:00pm) - The Warriors and Knights meet for an immediate rematch after West earned an 18-16 victory on Friday.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

Conant at Hinsdale Central (6:00pm) - The Cougars head to Hinsdale to take on the Red Devils in a matchup of teams looking to break into the Top 25.
