TUESDAY'S GAME RECAPS

BOYS

Conant 11 Fremd 10 (2 OT)

Dave Wollschlaeger scored the game-winning goal in sudden death overtime to give Conant an 11-10 win over Fremd.

 

Foreman 10 Northside 8

Juan Mendez scored 3 times as Foreman edged Northside 10-8 on Tuesday evening. Connor Gillespie and Reed Cabral scored 3 goals apiece in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Hoffman 7 Barrington 6

Sang M Han scored 3 goals and Mike Christen added 2 scores as Hoffman held off Barrington 7-6 in an MSL West contest. Logan Gizel stopped 10 shots in the win for the Hawks. James Rodney led the Broncos with 2 scores, while goalie Chris Hoover made 13 saves in the loss.

 

Lincoln-Way North 10 Lincoln-Way East 9 (OT)

Kenny Witt scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift LWN to a 10-9 victory over LWE on Tuesday night. Jake Roberts scored 3 times and Zach Smith added 2 goals in the win for the Phoenix.

 

Palatine 13 Schaumburg 11

The Pirates jumped out to a 5-1 halftime lead and held off a late challenge by Schaumburg to earn an important 13-11 win in MSL West play on Tuesday. Justin Behrens scored 5 goals and both Dylan Weissman and Kamil Mulawa each added 3 scores in the win for Palatine. John Giuliano added 2 goals and Dan Sommerfield made 8 saves in the Pirates' victory. Mike Gergen scored 5 times and Justin Chen and Randy Carr each added 3 scores in the loss for the Saxons.

 

Sandburg 6 Latin 5

Balys Gintautas recorded 3 goals and Tony Rogina made 12 saves as Sandburg edged Latin 6-5.

 

STC North 19 Metea Valley 7

Joey Chokran totaled 5 goals and Josh Kerr, Justin Jacobson, Kyle Passini, and Nick Lutsch each added 3 scores at St Charles North topped Metea Valley 19-7.

 

Lockport 11 St Rita 8

Brian Cavanaugh recorded 7 goals as Lockport defeated St Rita 11-8 in nonconference action on Tuesday.

 

Mundelein 15 Lake Forest 1

Sean Falconer and Will Davidson each recorded 5 goals to lead Mundelein to a 15-1 victory over Lake Forest. Nick Mandas added 2 scores in the win for the Mustangs.

 

New Trier 16 Maine South 5

Konrad VonMoltke scored 4 goals as New Trier built a 7-0 first quarter lead before emerging with a 16-5 victory in Central Suburban League action on Tuesday. Jason Bartha added 3 scores in the win for the Trevians. Mike Oulvey led the Hawks with 3 goals.

 

Wheeling 10 Meadows 5

Andy Eiter tallied 5 goals and Daniel Kubeck added 3 scores to help lift Wheeling past Meadows 10-5. Kevin Fitzsimmons scored 3 times in the loss for the Mustangs.


GIRLS

Barrington 10 Hoffman 5

Chloe Padula scored 3 goals and Laura Danhauer tallied 2 scores to lead Barrington to a 10-5 victory over Hoffman. Rachael Gallo tallied 4 scores in the losing effort for the Hawks.

 

Deerfield/Highland Park 11 Maine East 7

Six players recorded goals for Deer Park as they fended off Maine East in a CSL matchup on Tuesday. Amy Nakano scored 3 goals, Shannon O'Hagan added 2 scores, and Tara Woodford made 9 saves in the loss for the Blue Demons.

 

Fremd 11 Conant 6

Sam del Prado recorded 4 goals and Megan Kennedy added 3 scores as Fremd stayed perfect in 2011 with an 11-6 conference win over Conant. Sam Matuszewski added 2 goals and Julie Conrath made 17 saves in the victory for the Vikings. Katie Varga tallied 3 goals and Lucie Banahan made 10 saves in the losing effort for the Cougars.

 

Hersey 11 Elk Grove 4

Katelyn Derrig totaled 5 goals and Christine Rovani added 3 scores as Hersey beat Elk Grove 11-4. Kathryn Noonan scored 3 times in the loss for the Grenadiers.

 

Lincoln-Way East 6 Lincoln-Way North 2

Brittany Becvar scored 3 times and Trisha Paul made 8 saves in LWE's 6-2 win over LWN.

 

Loyola 11 Oak Park 3

Brittany Wallace scored 4 goals and Evan Swenson and Sarah Gross each tallied 3 scores as Loyola beat Oak Park 11-3. Kristina Alexander also made 7 saves in the win for the Ramblers. Katie Hunt scored 2 times in the loss for the Huskies.

 

Lyons 21 Stagg 10

Blair Hopwood and Shannon Lyons both scored 4 times to help lift Lyons to a 21-10 victory over Stagg. Liz Hadhazy tallied 5 goals in the loss for the Chargers.

 

Metea Valley 8 STC North 6

Mia Palladino scored 5 goals and Lizzie Hollopeter added 2 scores in Metea Valley's 8-6 win over St Charles North. Claire Bultema and Sarah Stern both scored 2 goals and Savanna Lada made 17 blocks in the loss for the North Stars.

 

Mundelein 16 Lake Forest 6

Alexis Jones scored 5 times and Sarah Honda added 3 scores as Mundelein built a 10-0 first half lead en route to a 16-6 victory over Lake Forest. Alyssa Garcia and Amy Klink both added 2 goals, while Emily Tylka made 10 saves in the win for the Mustangs. Emily Nowlin recorded 3 goals in the loss for the Scouts.

 

Naperville Central 15 Naperville North 4

Claire Wirtz scored 4 goals and Abbey Kerth added 3 scores as Naperville Central downed Naperville North 15-4. Emily Sejna and Gracie May each added 2 scores in the Redhawks' win. Megan Nerud scored 2 times in the loss for the Huskies.

 

Neuqua Valley 20 STC East 5

Sarah Nock recorded 4 goals and Megan Russel and Tricia Bannister each added 3 scores to lead Neuqua Valley to a 20-5 victory over St Charles East on Tuesday.

 

New Trier 15 Maine South 6

Isabelle Baneaux scored 4 times and Anna Horstkotte scored 3 goals in New Trier's 15-6 conference win over Maine South. Mary Molitor and Meghan Franke also chipped in with 2 goals apiece in the Trevians' victory.

 

Prospect 12 Buffalo Grove 8

Meg Dix registered 4 goals and both Jessica Cavaiani and Lisa Mazur chipped in with 3 scores as Prospect fended off Buffalo Grove 12-8 on Tuesday. Sara Fasching recorded 5 goals in the loss for the Bison.

 

Richards 16 Shepard 3

Andrea Jaramillo and Lisa Gorski each scored 4 goals as Richards rolled to a 16-3 victory over Shepard.

 

Schaumburg 18 Palatine 11

Samantha Schuckles scored 7 goals and Kristy Bessler tallied 5 goals as Schaumburg beat Palatine 18-11. Paige Wainwright put in 6 goals for Palatine in the loss.

 

Wheeling 11 Meadows 2

Callie Schoeneman scored 5 times and Leah Malsom added 4 scores as Wheeling defeated Meadows 11-2. Emily Lebuhn scored 2 goals in the loss for Meadows.

 

TUESDAY'S GAME PREVIEWS        

BOYS

MATCH OF THE DAY

Schaumburg at Palatine (4:30pm) - The Pirates play host to the Saxons in a game with major implications in the MSL West race.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

Latin at Sandburg (5:00pm) - The Eagles take on their second ranked opponent in as many days when Latin comes to Orland Park.

AND

Stagg at Lyons (5:00pm) - The Chargers will look to cause problems for the Lions when the two meet in LaGrange on Tuesday.


GIRLS

MATCH OF THE DAY

Naperville North at Naperville Central (6:00pm) - Central will look to stay perfect when they take on their rivals in a Naperville clash.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

Loyola at Oak Park (6:00pm) - The Huskies will look to spring an upset when they host Loyola on Tuesday evening.
