WEDNESDAY'S GAME RECAPS

BOYS

Brother Rice 14 St Viator 3

Mike Mulcrone scored 4 goals and Kyle Pikula added 3 scores as Brother Rice beat St Viator 14-3.

 

Fenwick 13 St Patrick 7

Fenwick improved to 7-0 in the MCAC with a 13-7 win over St Patrick on Wednesday night. Connor Brown registered 4 goals, Ted Herbstritt totaled 3 goals, Matt Farmer added 2 scores and Dan Newell made 12 saves in the win.

 

Lockport 15 Lincoln-Way West 5

Brian Cavanaugh tallied 5 goals as Lockport defeated Lincoln-Way West 15-5 on Wednesday evening.

 

Loyola 11 St Ignatius 10

Charlie Dowdle recorded 7 goals, including the eventual game-winning score on a penalty shot, as Loyola earned an 11-10 upset win over St Ignatius. Robbie O'Connor made a vital save in the closing seconds to seal the win, his tenth of the game for the Ramblers. Mark Alvarado scored 4 times and Jamie Juarez added 3 scores is the loss for the Wolfpack.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 11 Lincoln-Way North 10

Petar Jackovich scored 8 goals and drew 6 ejections to lead LWC to an 11-10 win over LWN.

 

McHenry 18 Bremen 3

Drew Schmitt, Kyle Braun, and Lucas Matthys each scored 3 times in McHenry's 18-3 victory over Bremen. Dylan Clohessy and Jordan Kuchenmeister both added 2 scores in the win for the Warriors.

 

Neuqua Valley 15 STC North 11

Seven players recorded goals for Neuqua Valley as they downed STC North on Wednesday night 15-11. Justin Jacobson registered 6 goals in the loss for the North Stars.

 

Sandburg 20 Andrew 2

Balys Gintautas scored 6 times and Erik Niemeier added 4 scores as Sandburg topped Andrew 20-2 on Wednesday.

 

Wheeling 11 Vernon Hills 1

Andy Eiter, Chris Prelletz, Clark Jensen, Daniel Kubeck, and Dan Shriber each scored 2 goals and Shane McDade made 20 saves as Wheeling beat Vernon Hills 11-1 to improve to 9-1 on the season.


GIRLS

Andrew 11 Sandburg 10

Andrew battled back from a 7-5 deficit in the second half to stun Sandburg 11-10 on Wednesday evening. Kelly Baumgartner scored 4 goals and Leah McCarthy totaled 2 goals and 3 assists in the victory for the T-Bolts. Allie Fischer and Abigail Wrobel also chipped in with 2 goals apiece in the win. Jamie Pappanastos scored 5 times and Tara Capouch added 3 goals in the loss for the Eagles.

 

Barrington 16 Meadows 4

Heather Dato scored 3 goals and Lisa Widdowsin and Laura Danhauer both added 2 scores as Barrington beat Meadows 16-4.

 

Fremd 13 Naperville North 4

Megan Kennedy recorded 4 goals and Sam del Prado added 3 scores in Fremd's 11-4 nonconference victory over Naperville North. Emily Orlowski and Sam Matuszewski also tallied 2 scores apiece, while Julie Conrath saved 13 shots for the Vikings. Megan Nerud led the Huskies with 3 scores in the losing effort.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 19 Stagg 4

Hannah Ongman totaled 4 goals and Rebecca Mathews added 3 scores as H-F beat Stagg 19-4. Liz Hadhazy and Liz Wayteck each scored 2 times in the loss for the Chargers.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 10 Lincoln-Way North 8

Danijela Jackovich scored 5 goals and Jamie Graf added 2 scores as LWC defeated LWN 10-8 on Wednesday.

 

Lincoln-Way East 16 Bradley 9

Mary Reilly totaled 6 goals for Lincoln-Way East as they knocked off Bradley 16-9.

 

Mother McAuley 8 St Viator 4

Vicki Arciniega recorded 3 goals and Jackie Knightly added 2 scores in Mother McAuley's 8-4 victory over St Viator.

 

Mundelein 18 Glenbrook North 6

Alexis Jones, Amy Klink, and Sarah Honda both scored 3 times as Mundelein beat GBN 18-6. Beth Orbon scored 3 times in the loss for the Spartans.

 

Neuqua Valley 11 STC North 4

Tricia Bannister scored 5 goals and Rachel Lehman added 3 scores to help lead Neuqua Valley to an 11-4 victory over St Charles North. Rachel DeVries tallied 2 scores in the loss for the North Stars.

 

St Ignatius 8 Loyola 5 (OT)

Tammy Stelnicki recorded 3 goals to lead St Ignatius to an 8-5 overtime victory over Loyola in Catholic League play on Wednesday. Evan Swenson scored 3 times and Kristina Alexander made 8 saves in the loss for the Ramblers.

 

Stevenson 14 Libertyville 4

Cheyenne Montijo and Sam Petti both registered 4 goals to lead Stevenson to a 14-4 win over Libertyville. Erin McCook and Karen Lowry each added 3 scores in the win, while Lisa Michalowski made 17 saves for the Patriots. Sam Voelker scored 2 times in the loss for the Wildcats.

MATCH OF THE DAY

St Ignatius at Loyola (6:00pm) - The Wolfpack play host to the surging Ramblers on Wednesday night in Wilmette.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

Neuqua Valley at STC North (6:00pm) - The upstart North Stars will be looking for a key win over the visiting Wildcats.


GIRLS

MATCH OF THE DAY

Loyola at St Ignatius (6:00pm) - The Ramblers and Wolfpack come together for one of the biggest Catholic League matchups of the season on Wednesday evening at UIC.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

St Viator at McAuley (5:00pm) - The Lions will be looking to spring a big upset in the Catholic League when they travel to McAuley.
