THURSDAY'S GAME PREVIEWS

BOYS

MATCH OF THE DAY

Neuqua Valley at #3 Naperville Central

The Redhawks haven't been in action for awhile, so now would be a good time for the Wildcats to throw everything at Central after they beat Naperville North 11-7 on Tuesday. The Redhawks would like nothing more than a win to get them warmed up for their weekend tournament that features Mundelein, GBN, GBS, and Naperville North.

KEEP AN EYE ON:

Evanston at #17 Glenbrook South - The Wildkits can get back in the CSL race if they can hand the Titans their first conference loss this season; meanwhile, GBS continues to impress and could be building towards another state tournament run by the end of the year.

#23 Andrew at #21 Stagg - Both teams have gone on extended winning streaks earlier this season, so a win here could propel the winner to bigger and better things in 2010. The Chargers would like to build some momentum with a win as they head to St Louis to play at the DeSmet (MO) Tournament on Friday, while the Chargers hoping to bounce back after coming off a loss to LWN.

GIRLS

MATCH OF THE DAY

#14 Latin at #1 Lyons

The Romans will have to bounce back from a tough loss to Bremen on Wednesday in order to challenge the top-ranked team in the state on Thursday, but they have the defensive prowess to challenge the Lions when they meet on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Lions will look for a solid win before heading to UIC to face #8 H-F, #6 Loyola, and a potential matchup with #2 St Ignatius.

KEEP AN EYE ON:

#3 Naperville Central at #25 Neuqua Valley - The Redhawks face one more test before they head to Michigan for a tournament, so they will need to avoid looking ahead when they play at an unpredictable Neuqua Valley side on Thursday evening.

#15 Lincoln-Way Central at #21 Lincoln-Way East - The Knights beat the Griffins 12-6 two weeks ago, so the rematch will showcase the team favored to win the SouthWest Suburban Conference regular season title as the sectional playoffs near.
