MONDAY'S GAME PREVIEWS

BOYS

MATCH OF THE DAY

#18 Naperville North at #15 Palatine

The Huskies have been steadily improving this season, finishing 3-1 at the Naperville Tournament over the weekend and getting to .500 on the season after the sixth week. The Pirates have been on a roll lately, as they moved up to #15 after going 2-0 last week. The two teams should have an exciting contest on Monday night when they meet at 6:00pm in Palatine.

KEEP AN EYE ON:

#27 St Viator at #9 McHenry - The Warriors look to continue their momentum after they went 3-0 at the New Trier Tournament over the weekend, while the Lions will try to bounce back after finishing 0-3 at the Latin Tournament on Saturday.

#22 St Patrick at #14 Glenbrook North - The Shamrocks and Spartans could both use a win after both suffered tough losses last week when they meet in this nonconference affair on Monday.

Prospect at Wheeling - The two rivals square off in a battle for second place in the MSL East; both teams enter the game with 5-2 conference records.

Schaumburg at Hoffman - Schaumburg will look to keep the pressure on Palatine in the MSL West race when they travel five minutes to Hoffman Estates to take on the Hawks. Hoffman is seeking their first conference win of the season, and they'll face a tough task in getting it on Monday night against Brandon Kase, Mike Gergen, and the rest of the Saxons.

STC North at Fremd - The North Stars (9-8) seek their tenth win of the season after coming off a fourth-place finish at the Sandburg Tournament over the weekend. The Vikings, meanwhile, went 0-3 at the New Trier Tournament, so they'll look to bounce back on Monday in a home contest.

GIRLS

MATCH OF THE DAY

#3 St Ignatius at #14 Latin

Two of the top teams at next month's UIC Sectional meet up on Monday in a game that could help determine the top seed when they are announced on Thursday.

KEEP AN EYE ON:

#15 Lincoln-Way Central at #18 Sandburg - Both the Knights and Eagles are undefeated in the SouthWest Suburban Blue division, so something will have to give when they meet on Monday afternoon in Orland Park.

#4 Fenwick at St Viator - The Lions earned their first Catholic League win over Marian last week, but they face a tough task in getting their second win when they host Fenwick on Monday evening. The Friars improved to 10-4 last week and seek their fourth win in the conference when they head to Arlington Heights to face the Lions.

#5 Fremd at STC North - The undefeated Vikings look to stay perfect in 2010 when they head to St Charles to take on the Saints.
