MONDAY'S GAME RECAPS

BOYS

Fenwick 14 Latin 9

John Osborne registered 5 goals and Connor Brown tacked on 4 scores as #2 Fenwick defeated #5 Latin 14-9.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 20 Bradley 9

Russell Maanum scored 7 goals and Shay Banton added 6 scores as the Vikings defeated Bradley 20-9 on Monday. Luke Dobben also tacked on 4 goals and Jake Bodnar made 9 saves in the win. Zach Ganger scored 5 times in the loss for the Boilers.

 

Loyola 12 Curie 11

Charlie Dowdle scored 7 goals as Loyola fended off Curie 12-11 on Monday night in Wilmette. The Condors actually held an 11-10 lead with just over a minute to play, but Loyola's Jimmy Nickele notched a goal with 0:56 remaining to tie the game at 11-11. Nickele then found TJ Considine with a backdoor pass and the Ramblers' senior converted the chance from two-meters out to give Loyola the narrow win. Eduardo Chavez led the Condors with 9 goals in the losing effort.

 

Mundelein 18 Fremd 1

Will Davidson scored 5 times, Pat Falconer recorded 4 goals, Frank Lukacs added 3 scores, and Brandon Horsch scored 2 times as Mundelein cruised to an 18-1 win over Fremd.

 

St Ignatius 16 Stevenson 5

Mark Alvarado recorded 4 goals and 10 steals to help lift the Wolfpack to a 16-5 road victory over Stevenson.

 

STC North 16 Conant 9

Justin Jacobson and Michael Nield each scored 5 times, Josh Kerr scored 3 goals, and Andrew Pruesse added 2 scores as STC North knocked off Conant 16-9.

 

St Viator 17 St Rita 9

Eric Primdahl scored 9 goals and Ryan Boyer added 4 scores as the Lions defeated St Rita on Monday in a battle for sixth-place in the Catholic League.

 

York 9 Neuqua Valley 5

Marc Krolikiewicz scored 5 goals and Dan Groch added 3 scores as the Dukes topped Neuqua Valley 9-5. AJ Quebbeman recorded 2 goals in the loss for the Wildcats.


GIRLS

Barrington 10 St Viator 8 (OT)

Catherine Byron, Chloe Padula, Erika Elliott, and Victoria Waring each scored 2 times as Barrington held off St Viator 10-8 in extra time on Monday. Alli Lardner scored 3 times and Melanie Battaglia tacked on 2 goals in the loss for the Lions.

 

Conant 9 STC North 6

Hannah Duke scored 3 goals and Lucie Banahan stopped 14 shots in Conant's 9-6 nonconference win over STC North.

 

Lake Forest 14 Meadows 7

Emily Nowlin scored 6 goals and Megan Salzar added 3 scores as Lake Forest earned a 14-7 win over Rolling Meadows.

 

Mundelein 8 Fremd 4

The Mustangs scored 3 straight goals in the final period to pull away from previously undefeated Fremd as they earned an 8-4 win over the Vikings on Monday evening. Alexis Jones scored 4 goals and Sarah Honda added 2 scores in the victory, while Emily Tylka recorded 12 saves for Mundelein. Kristina D'Andrea scored 2 times and both Erika Lauraitis and Emily Orlowski each added a goal in the loss for Fremd.

 

Neuqua Valley 4 York 3

Callie Young scored 2 times and Abbie Marone and Tricia Bannister each added one goal apiece in Neuqua's 4-3 win over York.

 

St Ignatius 11 Stevenson 9 (OT)

Stephanie Fernandez scored 5 goals and Celeste Almarez added 3 scores in an overtime thriller in Lincolnshire on Monday night. In the fourth quarter, Stevenson tied the game at 8-8 with 0:34 left to play, but the Wolfpack took the lead on their next possession with 0:17 remaining. The Patriots responded with a goal with 0:07 left to send the game into overtime. Ignatius scored goals in both overtime periods to end up with an 11-9 win. Karen Lowry scored 4 goals and Cheyenne Montijo added 2 scores in the loss.

 

Young 10 Morgan Park 8

Shay Bell recorded 5 goals to help lead the Dolphins to a 10-8 victory over Morgan Park on Monday.
