Monday in the play-in game of
the Barrington Sectional. Hoffman jumped out to a 5-1 lead by halftime and
were able to keep their distance from the Mustangs throughout the second
half before securing the win. Adam Pasnicki, Jordan Kathe, Sang M. Han, and Sang W. Han
each chipped in with one goal apiece in the win for the Hawks, who advance
to Wednesday's quarterfinals to take on top-seed Palatine at 4:30pm in
Barrington. Damian Fitzsimons totaled 3 goals to lead the Mustangs, while
Sam Schmid scored 2 times and Dan Briggs added one goal in the loss.

South Sectional
Prospect 14
Maine West 2
Ed Martin and Mike McPartlin
each scored 4 goals and Joe Lakner added 2 scores to help lift Prospect to
a 14-2 triumph over Maine West on Monday night. The Knights jumped out to
a 6-0 lead in the first quarter and used a solid overall performance the rest of
the way to improve to 13-10 on the season. Brian Johnston
recorded 11 saves in the win, which moved Prospect into the
quarterfinals where they will face second-seed Glenbrook North on
Wednesday night.
Maine South 12 Maine East 9
David Zarychta scored the game-tying and game-winning
goals in final two minutes of the fourth period to help lift Maine South
past Maine East 12-9 on Monday. Zarychta scored 4 times in the last period
as part of a 7-3 run that helped the Hawks overcome a 7-5 deficit with
their season on the line. Mike Oulvey also scored 3 goals in the win for
the Hawks, while Matt Wiegel netted 5 goals in the tough loss for the Blue
Demons.
LWC Sectional
Bremen 21 Lincoln-Way West 6
Peter Dryan scored 5 goals and goalie Eric Orzechowski
stopped 10 shots as Bremen knocked off Lincoln-Way West 21-6.
Neuqua Valley Sectional
Hinsdale South 16 STC East 14
Danny Cigler scored 6 goals and Sebastian Ostrowski
added 5 scores as Hinsdale South defeated STC East 16-14 to advance to the
quarterfinal round of the Neuqua Valley Sectional.
York Sectional
Northside 11 Elk Grove 10
Tom Byrne recorded 7 goals to help lead Northside to a
narrow 11-10 win over Elk Grove in a play-in game within the York
Sectional. The Mustangs trailed 6-4 at halftime, but Byrne helped spur the
comeback with 4 second-half goals for Northside. The Mustangs will battle top-seed Oak Park in Wednesday's
quarterfinals.
Riverside-Brookfield 20 Foreman 5
Ken Castle registered 3 goals and Kyle Miller added 2
scores as R-B earned a date with Fenwick in Wednesday's quarterfinals with
a 20-5 win over Foreman.
