Quarter 1
*** Stelnicki wins the swimoff for Green, but they
cannot get a shot off on their first possession
*** Ovalle and Sejna trade steals at two meters, then
Sejna's shot from 5m is tipped by her NC teammate Claire Fleming
*** Tough defense to start the game, as Ovalle earns
another steal after sneaking in from the left flat
*** Mathews draws the first ejection of the game for
Green, but Kirby Kaptur makes a steal at 2m to end the threat
*** Fleming with a steal and then a lob attempt that
floats to the right post and.......Montijo gets to it before it goes in!
*** The Stevenson junior cleared the ball before it
went in and we remain scoreless
*** Stelnicki strikes first for Green! Her shot from
the left wing gets past Tylka and the score is 1-0!
*** Ter Bush tries a lob on the other end but Green
grabs it and Green heads down on offense
*** Ejection on the other end, then Mathews scores from
5m to put Green ahead 2-0
*** Jackovich cuts the lead to 2-1 with a goal from 2m!
*** Maeve O'Connor ties the game in the final
minute with a left-handed shot that went bar-in from near 4m
*** Tylka makes a save for the White team in the
closing seconds of the period, and we end the first frame tied at 2-2
Q1 - Green 2 White 2
Quarter 2
*** Jackovich wins the race for the ball to start the
quarter, then assists Kerth on a backhand goal from 2m and White leads
3-2!
*** After a stop, O'Connor lobs a shot off the bar as
the shot clock expires; Jackovich is all alone to score on the rebound!
4-2 White!
*** O'Connor tries again from 2m but Keeve extends to
make a save
*** Cabrera ends the 4-0 run with a goal for Green,
trimming the lead to 4-3
*** Green earns two ejections on the same play...can
they make White pay? Yes! Cabrera scores again from the left side!
*** Ovalle finds Stelnicki open on the left side, but
her lob attempt just sails over the goal and we remain even
*** O'Connor denies a scoring chance for Green at 2m,
and Tylka gets to it to end the Green team's threat
*** Alexis Jones steals a pass from her Mundelein
teammate Evelyn Kurzac, then Jones earns another steal on White's next
chance
*** Stephanie Ovalle draws a penalty but Tylka denies
her shot attempt!
*** Ovalle earns a bit of revenge with a goal from 5m
after an ejection and Green leads 5-4!
*** Tylka makes ANOTHER penalty shot save to keep White
within a goal!
*** Keeve makes a save on the other end, but Mathews
outside shot attempt hits the post
*** Neither team can score in the final two minutes of
the half, and Green leads 5-4 at the break
Q2 - Green 5 White 4
Quarter 3
*** Jones wins the swimoff; but the resulting
possession for Green ends in a turnover
*** Mayer tries a shot from 5m
*** Kerth scores off a pass from Fleming as the
Naperville Central connection strikes to tie the score at 5-5!
*** Kerth makes a steal on the other end after an
ejection
*** After an ejection, Jones forces a turnover at 2m
after Fleming nearly scored from the right post
*** Jones draws an ejection, but Kaptur breaks up the
scoring chance even though Green had a 2-on-1 advantage
*** Stelnicki forces a turnover and gets the ball to
Devin Green, but Tylka makes a save on the other end for White
*** Cheyenne Montijo breaks the deadlock with a goal
from the left side, assisted by Kaptur...White now leads 6-5!
*** White calls a timeout after an ejection late in the
third period, but an outside shot by Alexis Jones goes wide right
*** Mathews nearly gets an open shot from 5m but
O'Connor gets a hand on her arm to prevent a shot
*** Jones scores from inside 5m to tie the game at 6-6
with 0:36 left in the third period
*** Tylka elevates to deny Ovalle's breakaway chance,
then Green makes a save on the other end as the period ends
Q3 - White 6 Green 6
Quarter 4
*** Jackovich wins the swimoff and O'Connor hits the
crossbar with the first shot of the period
*** White with another chance, but Mathews makes a
steal on the perimeter
*** Tylka makes a save on the other end; Jones forces a
turnover at 2m for Green
*** Mayer works her defender on the right wing but
Tylka denies her shooting chance
*** Keeve with a save for Green; Tylka tips Asztalos'
shot off the right post and grabs the rebound
*** Jackovich gets triple-teamed at 2m and Jones forces
a turnover; Green calls a timeout
*** Mayer tries to get to the right post but O'Connor's
help defense helps force a turnover
*** Keeve makes a key block on Kerth's backhand chance
from 2m
*** Tylka blocks a shot by Mathews from the left corner
*** Kerth's shot from 7m is deflected in and White
leads 7-6 with 3:35 left to play!
*** Abbey Kerth delivers again! Her fourth goal of the
game puts White ahead 8-6!
*** Mathews draws an ejection, but Tylka denies her
shot from the right side to keep White ahead by two goals
*** Kurzac with a block on Mathews' shot attempt from
5m
*** Keeve tips a shot off the crossbar and Green heads
down on offense
*** O'Connor makes a steal to prevent a scoring chance
for Green in the final minute
*** Keeve comes out of the net to earn a steal, Green
needs a quick goal here
*** And they get it! Ovalle finds Cabrera open at 2m
and the score is 8-7!
*** White just needs to run twenty seconds off the
clock...and they do!
*** Tylka makes two penalty shot saves and Kerth scores
four goals to lead White to an 8-7 win.
*** Abbey Kerth and Emily Tylka are named as Co-MVP's
for the contest
