BOYS

Buffalo Grove 14 Hersey 7

Ian Rodriguez totaled 5 scores for the Bison as they downed Hersey 14-7 to take a firm grip of second place in the MSL East. Steve Petro registered 5 goals for the Huskies in the loss.

 

Fremd 12 Barrington 7

Phil Schroeder scored 5 goals and Andre Degla added 3 scores in Fremd's 12-7 victory over Barrington.

 

Glenbrook South 12 Evanston 7

Igor Gryniv registered 6 goals to help lift GBS to a 12-7 win over Evanston in a Central Suburban League contest.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 9 Lincoln-Way East 6

Caleb Peterson scored 4 times and Zach Peterson added 2 scores as H-F got enough shots past Tom Vander Velde to earn a 9-6 win on Tuesday night. Vander Velde made things difficult for the Vikings, as he stopped 23 shots in the loss for the Griffins. Jake Bodnar also made 12 saves in the win for H-F.

 

Lyons 11 Latin 7

Kovas Zygas scored 5 times, David Sekula recorded 3 goals, and Andrew Brown made 19 saves as Lyons improved to 18-1 after an 11-7 home win over Latin. Eddie Wickes totaled 4 scores in the loss for the Romans.

 

Lincoln-Way North 16 Metea Valley 8

Jake Roberts and Kenny Witt both scored 4 times to lead LWN to a 16-8 nonconference win over Metea Valley.

 

Maine South 9 Niles West 6

Mike Oulvey scored 4 goals, Kevin Morrisroe added 3 scores, and Jon Prinz scored 2 times as Maine South topped Niles West 9-6.

 

Mundelein 9 Libertyville 8

Frank Lukacs and Jeff Anderson each scored 3 times to help lead Mundelein to a 9-8 win over Libertyville to clinch the NSC regular season title. Nick Mandas and Quinn Larsen each scored once in the Mustangs' win. Tommy Keefe tallied 3 goals and Ben Snader added 2 scores in the loss for the Wildcats.

 

Naperville North 16 Hinsdale Central 14

Jack Henderson recorded 6 goals and both Aaron Katz and Bradley Helder put in 3 scores as the Huskies held off Hinsdale Central 16-14 on Tuesday. Strati Koulouris registered 6 scores in the loss for the Red Devils.

 

Neuqua Valley 12 Hinsdale South 5

AJ Quebbeman scored 4 times and both Kevin Patterson and Robert Vechiola scored 2 goals as Neuqua Valley defeated Hinsdale South 12-5 on Tuesday.

 

New Trier 13 Maine West 7

Max Redemann recorded 8 goals to lead New Trier to an 13-7 victory over Maine West.

 

Palatine 17 Hoffman 6

John Giuliano and Kamil Mulawa each scored 5 times and Dan Sommerfield stopped 12 shots in Palatine's 17-6 win over Hoffman. Sang W Han scored 3 times and Logan Gizel blocked 11 shots in the loss for the Hawks.

 

Schaumburg 13 Conant 10

Mike Gergen totaled 5 goals and 4 assists and Martin Kwiatkowski added 3 goals as Schaumburg solidified their second place position in the MSL West with a 13-10 win over Conant. Randy Carr added 2 scores and Mike George made 15 saves in the win for the Saxons. John Burke led the Cougars with 4 goals.

 

St Ignatius 14 Andrew 7

Mark Alvarado scored 7 goals and Jaime Juarez added 3 scores to lead St Ignatius to a 14-7 victory over Andrew in nonconference action on Tuesday.

 

St Patrick 11 York 6

Peter Blume tallied 6 goals to lead St Patrick to an 11-6 victory over York on Tuesday evening.


GIRLS

Evanston 11 Glenbrook South 4

Ellis O'Connor recorded 4 goals and Natasha Chastang, Robyn Bastian, and Yasi Nassiri each scored 2 times as Evanston beat GBS 11-4 to retain their Central Suburban League lead by one game over New Trier. Sarah Thompson made 11 saves in the win for the Wildkits.

 

Fenwick 8 Oak Park 2

Gena Wendt and Mimi Romano both scored 2 times as Fenwick defeated Oak Park 8-2 on Tuesday evening.

 

Fremd 12 Barrington 2

Sam del Prado registered 5 goals and Megan Kennedy added 3 scores in Fremd's 12-2 victory over Barrington. Amy McEllen scored 2 times and Julie Conrath also made 12 saves in the Vikings' win. Chloe Padula scored 2 goals in the loss for the Fillies.

 

Hoffman 8 Palatine 4

Rachael Gallo recorded 7 goals and Damaris Vera sealed the win with a late goal as Hoffman defeated Palatine 8-4. Nicole Theis scored 2 times in the Pirates' loss.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 10 Lincoln-Way East 6

Rebecca Mathews scored 5 goals and Michelle Mayer added 3 scores as H-F defeated LWE 10-6 to remain perfect in the SWSC. Anna Shirer also made 11 saves in the victory for the Vikings. Mary Reilly scored 3 times and Tricia Paul made 15 saves in the loss for the Griffins.

 

Lincoln-Way North 13 Metea Valley 9

Jenna Tasic recorded 6 goals in LWN's 13-9 triumph over Metea Valley.

 

Maine East 9 Maria 1

Amanda Roddy tallied 6 goals to lead Maine East to a 9-1 victory over Maria on Tuesday night.

 

Mundelein 14 Libertyville 8

Alexis Jones scored 3 goals and Amy Klink and Sarah Honda each recorded 2 scores in Mundelein's 14-8 win over Libertyville. Sam Voelker led the Wildcats with 3 scores in the losing effort.

 

Naperville North 15 Hinsdale Central 5

Megan Nerud scored 5 goals, Audrey Chien tallied 3 scores, and Madeline Troy and Sofi Prorok each added 2 scores as Naperville North beat Hinsdale Central 15-5.

 

Sandburg 8 Mother McAuley 7

Tara Capouch recorded 4 goals as Sandburg jumped out to a 6-1 lead and held on for an 8-7 win over Mother McAuley. McAuley's Adrianna Izquierdo scored with 0:37 remaining to cut the lead to one, but the Eagles were able to hold the ball until the shot clock expired and prevented the Macs from getting a shot off in the closing seconds to earn the narrow victory. Korey Flynn made 14 saves in the win for Sandburg. Jackie Knightly led McAuley with 2 scores in the losing effort.

 

Vernon Hills 10 Lake Forest 4

Anna Lebiedzinski scored 3 goals and Dana Andrea tallied 2 scores as Vernon Hills knocked off Lake Forest 10-4.

 

Wheeling 11 Elk Grove 6

Callie Schoeneman and Leah Malson both tallied 4 goals as Wheeling defeated Elk Grove 11-6. Jordan Crocker put in 2 scores in the loss for the Grenadiers.

 

TUESDAY'S GAME PREVIEWS        

BOYS

MATCH OF THE DAY

Mundelein at Libertyville (6:00pm) - The winner of this North Suburban Conference matchup will likely claim the regular season title, so there is a lot at stake when the Mustangs travel to Libertyville on Tuesday.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

Conant at Schaumburg (4:30pm) - The Cougars and Saxons will be fighting for second place in the MSL West when they meet at 4:30pm tomorrow afternoon.


GIRLS

MATCH OF THE DAY

McAuley at Sandburg (5:00pm) - McAuley and Sandburg could meet in the sectional semifinals if the seeding plays out according to previous results this season, so there is a lot on the line when the two meet in Orland Park tomorrow evening.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

LWE at H-F (5:00pm) - The Vikings will look to stay perfect in the SWSC when they play host to the one-loss Griffins tomorrow night.
