BOYS

Buffalo Grove 9 Prospect 5

Ian Rodriguez, Matt O'Rourke, and Phil Irzyk each scored 2 times in Buffalo Grove's 9-5 win over Prospect.

 

Fenwick 17 Latin 11

Matt Farmer and Ted Herbstritt each scored 5 times and Connor Brown recorded 3 scores as Fenwick outscored Latin 11-4 in the second half to earn a 17-11 victory on Tuesday. Dan Kelly also scored 2 times and Matt Bresnahan and Viken Huening each tacked on a goal in the win for the Friars. Jacob Himmel scored 6 goals, Eddie Wickes tallied 3 goals, and James Ruggiero put in 2 scores in the loss for the Romans.

 

Glenbrook South 12 Niles West 3

Kevin Roenitz scored 5 goals to lead GBS to a 12-3 victory over Niles West on Tuesday night.

 

Hersey 11 Elk Grove 7

Steve Petro scored 4 goals to help Hersey earn an 11-7 victory over Elk Grove in an MSL East contest.

 

Hoffman 11 Barrington 6

Mike Christen and Sang W Han each scored 3 times and Logan Gizel made 12 saves in Hoffman's 11-6 win over Barrington. Adam Pasnicki and Sang M Han both scored 2 goals in the Hawks' win. Erik Beightol and James Rodney each scored 2 goals in the loss for the Broncos.

 

Lockport 10 Homewood-Flossmoor 9

Chris Bowman scored 4 times to lead Lockport to a 10-9 upset win over H-F on Tuesday. The loss was the first in the SWSC for the Vikings in 2011.

 

Metea Valley 13 Glenbrook North 10

Cameron Weber scored 6 goals to lead Metea Valley to a 13-10 win over GBN on Tuesday. Brendan Schilling and Nick Goodspeed both scored 3 goals in the loss for the Spartans.

 

New Trier 14 Maine East 8

Jordan Palmer recorded 5 goals to lead New Trier to a 14-8 win over Maine East. The Trevians improved to 7-0 in the CSL after the win.

 

Schaumburg 11 Palatine 10

Randy Carr and Mike Gergen each recorded goals in the final two minutes to lift Schaumburg past Palatine 11-10 on Tuesday night. Both players scored 4 times and Brandon Luke added 2 goals for the Saxons, who trailed 9-7 midway through the final period before putting together a 4-1 run to earn the win. Kamil Mulawa scored 6 goals and John Giuliano added 2 scores in the Pirates' loss, their first in the MSL this season.

 

Stagg 18 Lincoln-Way North 9

Drew Stoffel and Zach Golob each scored 5 goals to help Stagg clinch the SWSC Red title with an 18-9 victory over LWN.

 

St Charles East 8 Hinsdale South 6

Shaun Suescheck recorded 5 goals and Stephen Mason added 3 scores as STC East beat Hinsdale South 8-6.

 

St Rita 10 St Viator 9

Efrain Hernandez scored the game-winning goal in the final quarter as St Rita upset St Viator 10-9 on Tuesday. Hernandez recorded 2 goals and Mike Hernandez tallied 4 scores in the Catholic League win for the Mustangs.


GIRLS

Andrew 15 Bradley 9

Leah McCarthy scored 4 times and Allie Fisher put in 3 scores to help Andrew beat Bradley 15-9. Abigail Wrobel and Megan Hofer both scored 2 times and Jordan Bartolini made 9 saves in the T-Bolts' win. Beth Zhe scored 7 goals in the loss for the  Lady Boilers.

 

Barrington 11 Hoffman 8

Catherine Byron scored 3 goals and Brooke Fanslow totaled 2 goals and 5 saves to lead Barrington to an 11-8 victory over Hoffman. Rachael Gallo recorded 4 scores in the loss for the Hawks.

 

Fremd 8 Conant 2

Emily McCarthy scored 4 goals and Sam Matuszewski added 2 scores as Fremd defeated Conant 8-2 to finish the Mid-Suburban League regular season with a 10-0 record. Megan Kennedy and Sam del Prado each added a goal and Julie Conrath made 8 saves in the Vikings' win. Andie Cobb and Katie Varga each scored one time and Lucie Banahan made 14 saves in the loss for Conant.

 

Hersey 11 Elk Grove 6

Christine Rovani tallied 5 goals as Hersey topped Elk Grove 11-6 to finish in second place in the MSL East in 2011.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 13 Lockport 1

Michelle Mayer and Rebecca Mathews each scored 4 times and Hannah Ongman added 3 scores to lead H-F to a 13-1 victory over Lockport. Sophie Schloen made 7 saves and allowed just one goal in the Vikings' win. Liz Latka scored the lone goal for the Porters.

 

Lincoln-Way North 13 Stagg 4

Jenna Tasic and Jess Berringer each scored 3 goals to lead LWN to a 13-4 victory over Stagg. Liz Hadhazy tallied 3 scores for the Chargers in the losing effort.

 

Naperville Central 9 Mother McAuley 5

Abbey Kerth recorded 5 goals and Julia Campbell made 13 blocks to lead Naperville Central to a 9-5 victory over McAuley. Jackie Knightly tallied 3 scores for the Macs in the losing effort.

 

Richards 21 Shepard 3

Sam Craig tallied 9 scores and Andrea Jaramillo and Lauren Gorski both scored 4 times as Richards downed Shepard 21-3.

 

Sandburg 14 Lincoln-Way East 9

Tara Capouch scored 5 goals, Jamie Pappanastos recorded 5 assists, and Korey Flynn stopped 14 shots as Sandburg beat LWE 14-9 on Tuesday evening to take sole possession of second place in the SWSC Blue.

 

Schaumburg 15 Palatine 4

Kristy Bessler scored 5 goals and Corinne Trujillo added 3 scores as Schaumburg built an 11-1 halftime lead and went on to beat Palatine 15-4 on Tuesday. Nicole Huffman registered 2 goals in the loss for the Pirates.

 

Waubonsie Valley 11 Lincoln-Way Central 5

Alex White scored 8 goals and EB Keeve totaled 20 saves and 8 assists in Waubonsie Valley's 11-5 win over LWC.

BOYS

MATCH OF THE DAY

H-F at Lockport; Sandburg at LWE (5:00pm) - The top two teams in the SWSC (H-F, Sandburg) face tough road games on Tuesday when they take on Lockport and LWE, respectively.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

Latin at Fenwick (5:30pm) - The top-ranked Friars look to stay unbeaten when they play host to #12 Latin on Tuesday night.


GIRLS

MATCH OF THE DAY

McAuley at Naperville Central (5:00pm) - #10 Mother McAuley travels to Naperville to take on the second-ranked Redhawks in an intriguing nonconference affair on Tuesday evening.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

LWE at Sandburg (5:00pm) - Something has to give when the Griffins and Eagles battle for second place in the SWSC Blue as both teams enter the contest with 7-2 conference records.
